I'll search the exact numbers in their 2 most common comparable fights which are Marquez & Mosley

 

spud, there was only a year difference between the May-Mosley fight and the Pac-Mosley bout.
It's pretty stupid to make it a point that Mosley was "younger and fresher" when he fought May.
Technically speaking, that is true, but to make a big deal out of that is garbage, and you know that.
If anything, Pac fans can make an argument as well that Mosley was more "conditioned" since he was actively fighting (albeit ugly fights) before he faced Pac unlike when he faced May.

And second, you don't get the bigger picture here.
Screw compubox, we all know that Mayweather is ages ahead of Pac in the defensive department, ragardless of what it says.
However, saying that Pac is only a few steps ahead of May in the offensive department is nothing but pure hate.
Sure, May did an awesome performance against Mosley (yes, I believe May put a better performance vs Pac against Mosley)
But you have to consider the intangibles here man.
Mosley was initially trying to engage with Pac.
He really was and was having some success with the overhand right and the jabs.
All it took was one solid, swift, and above all, unseen combination from Pac and it made Mosley's heart crumble.
The same happened to warrior hearted Cotto, and abysmal Clottey.
That says something about the kind of offense that Pac puts on the table.

And before you go butthurt ***** mode on me, yes, I agree that strictly on paper, Mayweather should "school" Pacquiao.
The operative word being "should".
However, Pac has been daring and screwing with the odds lately.

 

So what, he was coming off his biggest win since oscar and was numero uno WW and top 3 p4p at the time its not as thopugh he just got up and decided he was going to fight they were in the gym throughout that period, Floyd was also inactive for more than one year and he scored best punch stats in ring history against a top 3 p4p fighter by the name of JMM, so tell me something now that it has been proved again that pacs defense is nowhere near on mayweathers level why try and cling to another weightless statement.

I've always suspected that Floyd's punch resistance was a bit questionable. His defense is second to none because it has to be to protect his chin, imo. When fighting someone as awkward and as fast as Pacquiao who also does possess incredible power, as good of a defender as Floyd is he will inevitably get caught with some big shots. I also suspect Floyd will want begin the early stages of the fight moving forward with the intent on fighting in the pocket - to which will be a tactical blunder and will ultimately spell his demise, imo.
