Clottey (against Pac) and Abraham (against Froch) turtled up and lost every minute of every round. I really don't think these guys understand how to use the peek-a-boo defence, they have no concept of how to turn defence into attack. They really need to start studying tapes of the great Winky Wright, one of the greatest ever exponents of this style: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxzj2UY2blU[/ame]
If Abraham and Clottey don't use the high guard the same way as Winky, they most definitely should! Because he is superb at using it, and they are not.
I agree. Like AnthonyW said the other day, Abraham and Clottey can only do one thing at a time - defend or attack. Nothing in between. You can't ask them to mix up the two.
Exactly. I really think Abraham and Clottey need to consider revising their styles, because it seems to exclude them from competing with boxers, to the point where they aren't even competitive against quicker opponents.
Peek a boo is tyson style and it includes head movement to constantly, to get into range and unload. You can attack and defend at once with peek a boo, you can't do that with the high guard.
