Let's try a little reality check here guys. Elvyn Ayala went life and death with Sergio Mora, and the best he could manage was a draw. It took AA nearly 12 full rounds to get rid of Ayala. Nobody in there right mind believes that Mora or Ayala could make 5 rounds with Pavlik, and yet all of a sudden AA is going to beat Pavlik:patsch

Styles make fights, and stylistically Pavlik is Arthur's worst nightmare. Abraham is 5' 10" and looks like he could easily make 154. Pavlik is 6' 2" 1/2 and basically a LHW who somehow manages to boil down to 160. Arthur throws 30 to 40 punches per round AT BEST. He fights for 45-60 seconds out of every 3 minutes. Pavlik at his best throws monster punches with both hands from long range with 40-50% accuracy. At his best he'll throw 100 punches in a round, and he works every second of every round. Arthur spends a **** load of time on the ropes and in the corners. Pavlik loves to put a guy on the ropes, and then use his usually under-rated foot work to turn the ring into a ****ing phone booth and close the show. Arthur would volunteer to get into Kelly's phone booth, and then it's over. Size, strength, work rate, stamina, jab, effective combinations, finishing skills, ring generalship, and the ability to implement his corner's instructions all go to Pavlik. Arthur might have a better chin, and a bit more one-punch KO power, but that is a big maybe. Pavlik KO7 Abraham.

And by the way; Taylor KO10 Abraham, Zuniga UD12 Abraham, Winky UD12 Abraham.

    Boo

People also used that exact same logic before Pavlik-Taylor 1 because Jermain had the deeper resume at the time. ****, Jermain himself used it. We see where that got him.

My gut feeling somehow tends to agree with you.

Abraham has some problems with slick and capable boxers being the one to be forced to press the action in order to win some points in the later rounds as he is a bloody slow starter who just walks through the ring for the first 3-5 rounds giving away the points even to totally overmatched opponents.
He wouldnt have to hunt Pavlik .Thats for sure. Pavlik could be tailor made for the Armenian banger.

Pavlik vs Abraham is a megafight that should happen this year, both camps mentioned wanting it for the second semester.

    I'd pick Pavlik to win.

Ayala, lost 2 times to David Banks, last fight was draw with Sergio Mora and this = GREAT WIN for AA to you.:verysad That's all I needed to know.

Not to mention, this was the 2nd time Ayala had even fought outside his home state!!! FFS! And 30 more seconds and he would have went the full 12!! If anything you guys should be a little ashamed that this HUGE one puncher AA didn't have that guy out of there in 4-5.

    Yes it'll be a huge fight:D :happy
AA always fights very smart, and by that I mean doing little to have more energy in the later rounds. I think his stamina sucks and that's why he's executing that tactic. Make him fight, pressure him and pavlik will win those rounds. AA can't win rounds by just landing 3/4 bombs a round.

But, as you said, AA can put pavlik away

Team Abraham is going to make their way across the pond so they can build up his hype to American fans ... he'll probably make his debut late summer, probably against a bum ...

Abraham is going to taste the same fate as Oktay Urkal ... he's going to get stopped or dq'd because of his dirty tactics ...

Pavlik is too strong, he has a very high workrate ... he's tall for a middleweight 6'2 1/2 ... and his high guard will help him against the wild Abraham.

I can hear Kelly now "we're gonna execute our game plan, throw punches in bunches, and we're gonna win"

Abraham outworks Wright ? WTF. Wright throws a lot of punches, though I believe Abraham will get the job done by just overpowering him.

You do not know how to score rounds and you do not know the rules of boxing.

Ayala twice lost to Banks, but had never been stopped before he faced Abraham.

No,Ayala isnt a skalp to be proud of. Dont get me wrong though! He is a game boxer who put up a very courageous show against an opponent who plays in a different league. Well done job,Ayala!

But all in all Abraham has a very good fight record. Take Taylor out of Pavlik's fight record and Kelly's fight record looks pathetic compared to Abraham's one.
I dont want to belittle Pavlik and his achievements. He is a great fighter and he for sure isnt the underdog against Abraham, but neither is he the cat and the Armenian the mouse.
Pavlik's style is tailor made for the powerful but lazy Armenian.Abraham isnt the fastest fighter out there and has always looked bad when forced to chase an opponent(Gainer) or go for the kill against an slick fighter(Ayala,Ghevor). He wont have to look for Pavlik.Quite the opposite Pavlik would be in his face all night long, but lets not forget that Abraham has never been down in his entire pro career and survived 8 long rounds with a broken jaw losing tons of blood in every round against........the the so-called great banger Miranda.
I am not so sure whether Pavlik would have survived 8 rounds with the same injuries against Miranda.
Anyway! Abraham connects with one of his powerful punches, and you are out of the game. Pavlik has already been floored.
Pavlik vs Abraham could really go either way IMO. Either Pavlik by UD or Abraham by ko.
