I'd have to say Sturm thought he would lose the belt to AA? I hear Mundine was given a 'back door' mandate for vacating.
Not only he knows he would lose his belt to AA... be he knows the very punch that knocks him out: the uppercut. I agree with Manik: if Sturm survives Griffin (which I doubt, but who knows), he'll be in deep trouble vs. Sylvester (who's not that good) and would lose bad to Mundine (who"s still very good). Should've taken the AA fight for the big money, but losing on points is not that embarrasing as losing by a brutal KO.
The first fight's summary with Showtime commentary: [yt]-FdkaD9N-Cw[/yt] Any interesting info from Hollywood, P2K?
Alright, here's pt.2 - the key-facts: 2. ARROGANCE/LIGHT-HEADEDNESS: IMO the more concentrated/determined boxer is going to take it. The one who's going to take is opponent lightly b/c of the first fight (Abraham "...he couldn't beat me altough he broke my jaw in 2 places - how is he going to do it this time when I'm healthy? And now I doesn't have to even care about the weightlimit." respectively Miranda "I broke his jaw in 2 places and hunted him like a rabbit inside the square circle. He hasn't affected me with his punching power, too. Plus the fight is at a higher weightlimit which is right playing into my cards with my phyiscal advantages coming even more into play." - notice: The fighters may not have really said this but after reading several interviews of both men I took the key-statements and interpreted them by myself). The way Abraham talks lately, I have the feeling that he's the one who's taking this fight without real pressure as if he's already fed up, not that hungry anymore. I am sorry to say this, cause I am a big fan of AA, but I am lightly leaning towards Miranda to win the rematch, most likely on points. if you missed pt.1 then read it here - http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1935754&postcount=239
Well... predicting a Miranda PTS win is indeed fair, division, venue, officials all favor Miranda. Predicting a Miranda KO is the stupid thing (based on the first fight) since he never even hurt Abraham. I'm predicting a close Abraham win, but who knows what kind of fight these judges will favor. Based on the very same scoring system I always use, I had the first fight 6-6. Obviously Abraham has to do more than that. But for my final prediction, I'll have to wait for the weigh-in, final comments and photos looking for signs of emotions, focus and determination...
I think the fight is, basically, going to be the same. But since the first fight, Miranda was badly knocked out by Kelly Pavlik, and scored a KO over David Banks. Abraham scored a devastating KO over Elvin Ayala, thus, I think both of their psyches are in great shape (though if anyone has the advantage, I'd say Abraham does). I expect basically the same fight, but this time, I think Abraham is going to fight a smarter fight (keeping the hands up, moving the legs, putting using the jab to set combinations, etc.), and win via a wider decision, if not a late stoppage. Abraham W12 Miranda, again.
man you know that bs. thats just a stupid, idiotic inference that you made about sauerland. You miranda fans just cant get over the fact that AA beat miranda, even though he had a broken jaw. On june 21 however when AA ko's or tko's miranda plz dont come up with bs excuses like this one.
Miranda on points, hopefully Arthur wins to set up a Pavlik fight now that Calzaghe isn't interested.
