yeah thats a pitty. i htink they realize the strong armenian pressence in Socal was not the best thing . so they faked an injury to get the venue changed. i have a feeling it won't matter. AA will win
****ing YES!!!:happy All I need is to cross the border and I am there. Finally a big fight in Motown. Come to think of it, we got a beautiful casino here in Windsor and a nice arena inside. It seems like a perfect venue to host a fight, hopefully someone is thinking about this. Great news!
Because its only fair when the American fighters have to go to the Euproean fighters hometown. You have been around here long enough to know that..Come on man:yep Bottom line is Dirrell fought the first fight in Nottingham, which is Frochs hometown, AA fought Taylor in Berlin which is his hometown. That is all OK according those guys. But Ward fighting in Oakland, and Dirrell fighting in D-town which isnt his hometown isnt OK??? That is messed up...You ask a great question that will likely go unanswered.
I know what you mean man! Its not like that Dirrell or any other fighter chose the venue for the tournament...I swear...I just dont understand the logic of some posters...Fighter fight away from home and some fight at home...Just the way boxing works. So for a person to get mad because the venue is switched is kinda pathetic IMO. Anyways...glad to see that the fight is being fought in the "D" :yep
This is great news for the city and great news for me,lol! I guess i can plan a nice night out on the town with the fellas and few chicks afterwards. Come across the bridge or tunnel bro and enjoy any of our 3 casino Hotels and nightlife! It's banging downtown every weekend anyway!!! I hope its @ Joe Louis Arena cause Cobo Arena is a **** hole. Either way im there to support Dirrell!!!
I think every group stage fight should be at one of the fighters home. Hell yes. Build up interest for the home fighter within the home city primarily, have suspense and interest grow in the media and worldwide, then you'll have the super venues actually fighting to show the semi's and especially the final and the home fans and neutrals will be battling for knock out stages tickets.
I respect you opinion brother, but we don't hear the nicest things about Detroit downtown here in Canada. As a matter of fact, even Detroit radio stations are overly negative about the city. Just today I was listening to 97.1 and Foster and Valente were talking how downtown needs a new arena which will be the home for both Red Wings and Pistons. This way they will increase the traffic in the downtown area (over hundred home nights for both teams) and in turn it will help the economy. It sounds like a good idea! I never been to Detroit (except the airport), but not many things will stop me to go and see Dirrell vs Abraham!
