I read the article on Boxing Talk. Sauerland ask for tapes of 3 recent Simms fights. No offer of a fight was ever made.

Personally I think Simon's height secured that fight for him. The other serious candidate was Enrique Ornales. Both are listed at 6' 1", and Arthur has very little experience against tall fighters. Pavlik is 6' 2 1/2". Seems to add up.

 

A guy who had the courage to fight with a broken jaw, against a p4p puncher for 7 rounds, and came back to clear all the doubts in the guys backyard is ducking simms?
