Abraham IS one dimensional....but he is NOT a prototypical slugger, imo.

Abraham employs excellent footwork to cut off the ring, and has sharp, crisp, accurate punches.

He is an excellent pressure fighter, in the mold of Dariusz Michalczewski (but several classes below DM).

Miranda is a prototypcial slugger, Abraham is not, and the difference in the ring was apparent.

However, he is one dimensional. He cannot stick and move properly on the backfoot (and no, what wwe saw in the Miranda 1 fight does not qualify as sticking and moving), he doesn't fight with a good plan B, etc.

Like Pacman, this one dimension of his is pretty damn deep.

Toss-up? Maybe. Their styles are SO different that it's hard to make good comparisons about some things.

My bad, I'm sorry I didn't watch his dominating boxing performance against Arlagband Moshavnovongvsa****.

I understand that he showed such a variety of boxing skills and aggression against the live body from Azbackganistaniban that I was blown out of my seat.

Excellent post. On top of what you said, Abraham is very hard to hit clean... he is extremely adept at keeping his hands up. The way he fights throws his opponents' rythem off.... you can't predict when he's gonna counter, and when he does, he'll take your head off if it lands.

    But the dude cannot BOX.

    And that's my point.

He has one effective style. Pavlik isn't even a GREAT boxer, but against Abraham he could look like SRR.

    So as I suspected.

You've seen ONE of his fights.

(Maybe even some Youtube of his first Miranda fight ? Maybe not.)

And based on that limited sample, you're qualified to lecture on his boxing abilities ?

    Scar was wrong.
    You're not a dumbass.
You've got a long way to climb before you can claim reach dumbass ststus.

Look man, I've seen him fight more than once, but the point is that I've seen enough of him to know that he's not an elite boxer.

He ain't Jermain Taylor, he ain't Bernard Hopkins, etc....****, he ain't even Kelly Pavlik when it comes to that, not even close.

So the fact remains his low output, combined with his punching power makes him a slugger with a high guard defense.

He has a puncher's chance in ever fight he's in, but he's never been in with an ELITE level boxer. Miranda ain't a boxer either. He's a volume puncher with power.

I will not claim to be the expert on Abraham, I have not seen enough of him really but based on this last fight he doesnt seem to be a boxing virtuoso by any stretch, Does not slip and then counter he is either on Defense the shell, or on offense throwing Hayemakers guy moves in straight powerful lines. He throws powewrful blows 2, 3 in a row he is a slugger. Shell you get your turn then I get mine.

But skills in general are eroding anyway, Im amazaed at how many fighters just fight flatfooted no one is up on their toes dancing in and out. Slipping while coming in and making the other guy pay, no subtleties. Thats why many guys are enjoying great success while mastering a few skills power or workrate seem to carry the day.

Abraham CANNOT box. I'm sorry if you can't get that through your head.

If Pavlik decides to box, it's over for Abraham.

But Taylor can BOX. He's done it in the past. He did it in the second fight against Pavlik.

    He can BOX. Abraham cannot.

I mean, he might be able to box your everday Arslan Miskogovich from Bogslavia, but that ain't Jermain Taylor.
