And if you also watch Dirrell's legs.

They clearly buckle after getting hit.

He was going down either way.

Exactly. Calzaghe gloves are mostly slap punches that didn't come from the knuckles that cobbler keep mentioning. Fighters have knockdown an opponent from a close gloves or an open gloves thats like a slap. <<<Rather it's slap or not, it's still a knockdown.

You have no idea what you're talking about. How can it be a knockdown if it's not a legal punch? Learn the basic rules of boxing, then you won't make yourself look quite so silly...

Wonder whether rayhogan was really confused at the end why it wasn't counted as a knock out for Abraham?

Apparantly he thinks that if you land an illegal punch, it should still count :rofl:rofl

Im asking you. If Dirrells punch didnt count then shoudl Calzaghe's entire resume be converted to NC?

You must be new cause it was a legal punch that send Abraham to the ropes. It if wasn't legal then Calzaghe knockdown his opponents are not legal either correct? Cause it was an open slap. Hell most fighters does the same thing but like i said you must be new.

No, any issues should have been dealt with by the referees of the fights in question. What, are you going to go through every fighter in history and NC every fight in which they threw a non-legal punch? You're not going to be left with a lot of actual results...

So you think slapping with an open glove is legal in boxing?

It was a side of the punch that landed. Calzaghe knockdowns his opponents mostly by slap punches but i guess you think those were legals correct?

Show me a Calzaghe knockdown where you think it was through a slap and I'll tell you whether I think it was legal or not. Kind of doubt you'll find one, for the record, as Calzaghe tended to slap when he was throwing flurries of arm punches. When he knocked people down he tended to punch legitimately.

But that's really a distraction from the question you're trying to avoid. In your last post you said that the Dirrell kd of Abraham was legal. You also said that it was caused by a slap.

The question again: Do you think (as you said) that slapping with an open glove is legal in boxing?

Funny you mention that cause i'm watching Calzaghe knockdowns his opponents on youtube. Some were clear knockdowns while some maybe most were slap open punches that the refs count it as a knockdown. Go look it up on youtube it's not hard to find.

its hilarious. Dirrell cuffs Abraham with his forearm and shoves him into the ropes, and people will argue from the bottom of their heart that its a legit knockdown.
