    I don't agree....

I think he would have stayed up if his foot wasn't caught... he was trying to roll with the punch as displayed by the pivot off his back foot.... his front foot would have balanced him if it wasn't caught up on the front of abrahams foot....

I'm just calling it how I see it... the physics clearly show aa having his foot trapped with dirrell.... as small as it maybe

I'm shocked, I honestly never thought that stupidity of this level existed.

Absolutely not. You can see clearly see Dirrell's entire upper body and leg hitch after he gets hit as he tries to take a step. He tripped. He did not just go over. He tried to take a step. Yeah, he got hit. He got hit with that shot multiple times throughout the fight. Not once did it knock him down. Without Abraham's ankle tripping him he wouldn't have went over. People get confused.

Edit -- San Rafeal's post made me take a closer look. Their feet did in fact get tangled.

I thought it was a clear KO when I saw it live.

Was annoyed at the ref not seeing it, Dirrel wasnt even obstructing the ref's view with both gloves tucked in his face. (Like the last Klitschko KO)

It was a clear view of the punch connection, I thought.

I agree. He managed to put his foot down while reversing but being off-balanced from the trip he wasn't able to square up his feet. That was a good punch alright but I think Dirrell was able to brace and took it well. If not he should have fell down straight after the punch on the trip and not staggered after it.

That's a knockdown, if you go down at the end of a punch then it's a knockdown. Even if their feet tangled it was still a punch that landed first.

Yes he was, the ropes kept him up and he was clearly on his way down from it. Not that it hurt him seriously or anything but it did nail him out of position and nearly down if it wasn't for the ropes.

Abraham's KD of Dirrell was clear as day. Their feet barely touched. Abraham's right-hand jarred Dirrell's head back violently and he was actually slightly lifted of his feet. Really awful refereering by Laurence Cole.

I think you meant the other way around. The one AA suffered was a clear off balance KD not the one on Dirrell.

glad the good posters seem to agree on this topic...

no... if aa's foot was not there he would have stayed up.... a knock down is the result of your opponents fist knocking you down with out interference from any other forces (balance, feet, shove or anything else)

I don't think that was a kd... if you watch a replay of that.... dirrel hit aa on the kneck... atleast from the angle I saw it at.... it looks more like a push down

Clear KD for Abraham......Dirrell also got robbed of his KD of Abraham a few rounds before. The ref wasn't good at all.

Neither were a KD. It loooked like Dirrell cuffed Abraham and threw him down. In this GIF, it's pretty clear that Dirrell gets hit, goes back, and then trips over Abraham's foot. The trip over the foot, not the punch is what ultimately caused him to hit the canvas. Correct call in both cases IMO.
