its important to note Abraham struggles to make 160lbs. He weighed 166 on the Thursday before the Marquez fight. If he met Pavlik over 160, say 164 or 166, I'd take Abe, and big. At 160, it's a toss-up. I think Kelly makes weight easier than Abraham.
He's getting there and is planning to fight the undisputed middleweight champion. His plans are hardly bad and his resume isn't horrible either.
that is fine and he is a good fighter but he didnt fight hopkins so he should hardly be checking KP's courage
Ayala, Miranda x2, Ikeke(Abraham an underdog going into that fight with many expecting him to lose, Ikeke was hot back then and also talked about as a serious opponent for Hopkins), Eastman and the rest of the guys he fought recently were all #1 on the IBF ranking including Marquez soon and Pavlik after him. Not bad for a guy with only 27 fights. Compare that with Pavlik's resume please. Jermain Taylor x2, Miranda, Lockett and Hopkins.
He never "checked" his courage, all he did was ask for a fight and is hoping he gets his shot. Also for a man who fought with a broken jaw against a dangerous puncher in Miranda since round 4 to the 12th and WON he has the right to question anyone's courage.
I think this was more of a try to "call him out", to draw Pavlik into a fight, than a "courage check".
Abraham would finish Pavlik early. Kelly has been exposed as a fake. Abraham is a little wild but has sick power and Kelly would be KTFO once he hits. Id bet the house on it.
Abraham-Pavlik is the fight to see and hopefully it does come off once Eyebrows and Raul Marquez are discarded.
With the cheating tactics Miranda displayed he should be lucky he wasn't DQ'd. The man got a chance to get the win despite his cheating tactics against a man with a broken jaw that was trying to counter here and there(ironically he was successful) and survive. I thought it was more than fair that he was still allowed to continue fighting yet couldn't make nothing out of it. If anything he was the one rocked numerous times late in the fight, especially the 8th.
Nah, Hopkins is too big for Abraham. Remember that Hopkins outweighed Pavlik by 13 pounds last Saturday!!!! and Abraham is much shorter again. Bernard is simply too big.
