Abraham on Pavlik's loss

There was no robbery, and stop lying to the fans. Talking about any fight before he won the title is utterly disgusting. You Pav fans make me sick talking about fights you never saw. Your man lost, get over it. Fighters lose, it happens.

 

DISGUSTING??? a fight is a fight ...why does it matter when it was fough...I was actually a bigger fan of the cobra than KP

 

the weight affects the whole training process not just the night of the fight...he was too big for KP anyway u slice it...and too skilled...but again I just say when ABRAHAM takes a fight like BHOP than he can make judgment on KP's courage

Weight had nothing to do with why Pav lost, skills did. He lost to a 43 year old man and was a 3-1 favorite. He got schooled, it happens, get over it!

 

I didn't say Pavlik is or was above Abraham, or the opposite. Although Pavlik has two quality wins over Taylor, an opponent who is better than anyone else in Abraham's resume. I'm saying they have to fight for us to determine who is the better fighter at Middleweight.

 

I agree that they have to fight to determine who is better. I don't agree Taylor is better than anyone on Abraham's resume. He just has the bigger name than anyone on AA's resume that's it.

Pavlik needs a new trainer before Abraham..
hes going to need some different tactics rather than the come forward .jab.. right hand if hes to break Abraham. From the little fights ive seen hes got a tight defence and can take a punch/pain,e.g miranda 1(broken jaw!).
That along side his one punch power he seems to posess will cause kelly all sorts of problems..
Does pavlik have that solid a chin? ..fair enough he wasnt put down by hopkins however in various rounds such as 12 he was close to being stopped!

I think both fighters have a strong chance however looking at the overall picture id have to go with Abraham by KO in latter rounds.

 

Actually, Kelly weighed 173 and B-Hop came in at 185.

At least, one can make a case for Howard Eastman, who came of an ok performance vs. then-reigning middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins...but still, JT is better than anyone on AA's resume...cause he beat Hopkins (at least on the judges scorecards in the first fight)...

 

before the hopkins fight i would go with pavlik now i think abraham might beat him i dont know if pavlik can bounce back from that one. i like pavlik i think he should fight a couple confidence building fight see how he feels and if he doesnt feel like before the hopkins ace whooping he should hang up the gloves cause abraham could hurt him

 

Yes, I think so too, Taylor is quality compared to the fighters in Abraham's resume. Not that Abraham has a bad resume, far from it, but he still has a long way to go in order to be recognized as a really good fighter and champion, as does Pavlik. A fight between the two would definitely show who's the top dog at 160.
About Taylor, yeah the fights with Hopkins were proof the kid is a really good fighter, he gave B-Hop problems (I agree btw, no way Taylor deserved two "W's" over Bernard, 1-1 would be a fair score imo).

Definitely, we have to see how Pavlik bounces back from that embarassing loss. Hopefully he realizes that Hopkins was just too much for him, work on his flaws, get better as a fighter and come back strong.

But imo people are very influenced from the Hopkins fight and diss Pavlik too much. Let's not forget that before the B-Hop fight, people were looking for someone that could even give problems to Kelly at 160, let alone beat him. He's a fine young champion at Middleweight, doesn't have much skill, but still has power, determination, stamina and consistency to be a force at 160 for a long time. But we have to see how much the loss to Bernard affects him.

Of course the "excuses" made mainly by his team (and himself) after the Hopkins bout are a bunch of bull****, as was the "Calzaghe call-out" campaign. All that hype affected Kelly, he started to believe in the hype and he shouldn't have. It was his hard work and determination that got him to win the 160 world title, he should stick to working in the gym and try to come back even better.
