Abraham:"Ottke made me the fox that I am in the ring"

    Yes, he said this in an interview with a German tabloid. He also stated that Ottke was the most intelligent boxer of recent times and that he wouldn't be where he is at the moment without Ottke's tutelage in training and sparring - I once remembered that he said on German TV that he often asked Svennie about the way he could improve his boxing.

    Ottke might not be all that but for sure he could become a good trainer IMO as I read those statements by AA...

    Yeah, I read that before he turned pro, he was a sparring partner for Ottke.

    He does seem however to have broken one of the fundamental rules of the Ottke strategy for defence .ie Fighting outside of good old deutschland .

    I always knew there was a use for Sven Ottke

    Underrated fighter to an extent, and clearly a good tactician.

    Ottke is a garbage fighter and AA idolizing him makes me cry a little on the inside.

    Ottke was clearly a very smart fighter, and as TFFP says, a smart tactician. Many a time did he lure his opponents down to his pace.

    If Ottke's training and advice did help Abraham to be who he is today, then he did a hell of a job..

    I read that Abraham was discovered becasse he was doing good against Ottke in sparring.
