BILD reports that Arthur Abraham will return in January.

"A nutritionist helps me. I only eat salad for dinner." His current weight is 79kilos (MW requires about 72kg). He's already lost 5kgs. The ex-champ defiant: "In one year I will be the champ again."
The KO-King from Berlin (32wins, 26ko's) says how he wants to achieve that:" I will make my comeback in January. It won't be within the mw-weight yet, but a catchweight fight at 75 kgs. But that will be arranged with the opponent. There's no deal yet but I want a good opponent, at least a top ten guy."
There are rumours that the fight will take place in Wetzlar, where Abrahams rise began in 2006, when he defeated Edison Miranda (col) with a twice broken jaw.
It's his goal, after another build up fight, to fight for the middleweight championship again. Arthur Abraham would love to fight at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, in front of 14200 boxing fans. Everything under the direction of the Sauerland-stable. Abraham: "We are conducting negotiations. But some things are for sure: I will continue boxing for Sauerland and Ulli Wegner will be my trainer!"

Nope. He only has his power and tight defence. If a slick and versatile boxer comes by, he will still have his problems..
He needs a new trainer. He is still young enough to change. I honestly liked the first two or three rounds against Ward, where he tried to box.

I think Abraham is ruined. His confidence is shattered. When he was in the ring with Ward he looked like he wanted to cry. I'd even pick Sturm over him at this point.

He was never that effective at MW, just carefully matched at home.

I like Abraham, no reason why just one of those fighters I like. He needs to loosen himself up more he's got a good enough of chin to take a few take some risks and land some of those bombs.

That trainer, whatever his name is, is terrible.

Same style with all his other fighters. He's horrible.

He is trapped between two weights. Really struggles to make 160lbs, but is psychologically fearful about facing bigger men at 168lbs where his power is less effective and his basic dominating style isn't a winning tactic. I'm sure they can stage-manage his career and he can pick up another belt and make some money by calling himself the champion.

You are probably being a bit too generous. Yes he got robbed, but he probably only came for the money anyway. I don't see any indication that he had a different mentality to most German fighters content to grab and belt, stay at home and make lots of money fighting dross.

    I second that!:good

If he can make MW again, I could see him KOing JCC JR and giving Martinez hell, but like you said....take some shots to get those hands inside and on his opponents chin.:good

AA was doing well the first two rounds against Ward using the jab. Why did he stop and shut down for the rest of the fight? Either AA has a terrible corner who didn't tell him to continue with the jab, or Arthur is a shell-shocked fighter and just closed-down mentally.
