Why do you feel Pavlik at 29, with only 2 losses to top 5 p4p fighters when he fought them, is SOOOO shot?

I would definitely bet money on AA KOing Martinez, Martinez was hurt by Williams in their first fight and Kelly was starting to come on against him in their fight as well, until the cuts got worse.

I don't buy Martinez as a elite MW.

He needs a better trainer that can teach him how to move his head, bob and weave and use a jab to come into punching range. Dropping weight isn't enough.

168 is the peak of talent at the moment.

But many who have not had enough for 168 have been able to look like world-beating champions in other divisions.

For example, Johnson.... he could not hack it at 168 but looked good at 175.

Danny Green... he wouldn't even be a top 5 (perhaps 10) at 168, but now he looks good at Cruiserweight.

Taylor was a powerful force at 160, but got dismantled at 168.

I think Abe will do fine at 160 and may dominate. But if I were him I would worry about Sergio who is a great boxer. OTher than Sergio I think it is there for Abe to take the division.

 

He is a champion, and it is disrespectful to call him a bum. And very wrong.

I didn't say he was more shot than AA if you read closely, i said Pavlik is just as shot as AA ... feel the difference.
That said, i think the recent happenings (related to his addiction i mean) have weakened Pavlik more than his losses, which were against two of the current best boxers so...
