No Froch is not the better boxer. Froch's defense is non existant, he is a head hunter and hardly goes to the body, slow somewhat flat footed and could work on his counterpunching skills and I am not impressed with his handspeed. He has power, chin and an unorthodox style going for him.
Skills don't pay the bills. When it comes to skills, in this sport you only need the basics in all departments, and the rest comes down to heart and desire. In this sport those two things can never be analyzed. I respect Froch, as he is unorthodox also. AA is faster than Froch, and imo he hits harder than Froch. None of these guys in this tournament are leagues above each other in any department. With the exception of experience which counts the most with me, and even then that can't be counted on all the time.
I wouldn't say that a guy who gets a broken jaw during a fight has the best defense in the world and he's a very dirty fighter. Skills do pay the bills, thats why Sven Ottke isn't considered in the same light as Joe Calzaghe ... or the top fighters in the world have stayed on top consistantly was because they had more skill than their opposition. Strength, stamina, and endurance - only make up a small amount that is required in being a true all-time great.
I can't believe i'm debating in the defense of Carl Froch but when it comes the two and what they bring ... Froch has only been knocked down once and from what i've seen (even against Pascal) didn't show much wear after the fight. Despite what we've noticed about Miranda, Abraham went tooth and nail - life and death against this man ... the it turns out that this guy can't fight going backwards, has a suspect chin, and his power was overrated.
ANY boxer fighting today can have there jaw broken, ANY, it basically comes down to getting hit on the right spot right time with your jaw positioning, so that excuse shows how bias you are against Arthur. And all of a sudden, Arthur is a dirty fighter? I am done with you, your intent is obvious, carry on.:hi:
You can have all the skills in the word, and wake up one morning 'not having it', and be Buster Douglassed or Iran Barkleyed lol... Think of all the upsets that you've seen Fitz. I'm talking about the Mayorga-Forrest type upsets. The heart can never be questioned dun. AA getting his jaw broke shows that you have to break it to break him, and that didn't break him where it broke other fighters.
Maybe you want to prop up Dirrell. Maybe you do believe what you believe. Just know that as much as you like Dirrell, fans like AA. This is not a distance of A-Z when it comes to skill and comp...this is more like A-B...
Miranda had already been exposed by Pavlik by that time ... the rematch was amazing though ... I thought that Abraham caught Miranda with a wild - wide punch that Miranda (if he had more skill) could've countered and stunned Abraham.
Hmm. If Abraham carries his power well to 168, I think he'll take it. He has REAL power. Froch gets hit too much and Abraham has decent defense and patience. He's also shown a good chin, but again, we'll see at 168.
