Giovanni doesn't deserve this title shot, ****, I can't believe they couldn't find a better qualified opponent.

Interesting. Lorenzo is with Top Rank, right?

Lorenzo is a mandatory challenger. A mandatory challenger in the same sense as Rubio but still a mandatory.

    Very disappointing indeed!

Oener's boy Oral-who deserves a shot at a world title more than Lorenzo-will square off against rising middle weight hope Pirog on the undercard of Kretschman vs Bakhtov.
Both Oral and Pirog would be far more demanding opponents for AA than that harmless American based Carribean who couldnt beat an old and shot Marquez.

True but Lorenzo has a few good qualities to him. One, it gets a mandatory out of the way. Two, He's Bobfather based so dealing with one of his fighters might help lighten the load when it comes to negotiations. Arum has been known to play hardball with those who he doesn't like.

On top of all of that, it'll be an easy elimination for Abraham and poses to little to no threat of a Pavlik-Abraham fight.

Abraham also said that a fight with Pavlik going to happen is at about 85% - he is pretty sure it will get done by the end of 2009...

This will be surprisngly tough for Abraham if he is not in much better condition and mindset than his fight against Simon.

Mandatory. **** mandatory like Lockett, but it's unfortunately a necessary fight to keep the IBF belt for the Pavlik unification. Lorenzo is actually a pretty good fighter with excellent power, but lacks the experience on the international level, IMO that's why he lost to Marquez.

How he became the mandatory is something even the IBF can't explain.

Easy win for Abraham IF he keeps himself focused on whats in front of him rather than Pavlik...

Someone a step removed, well 1/2 step removed, from Kelly's camp said "after Kelly fights Abraham in November"..... So, Kelly's camp expects it too.

Yeah. His second straight eliminator I believe? Or did he get a fight wedged in between? :patsch
