Abraham vs. Pavlik - Who will win if they fight now at 160/168?

I'd take AA by ko

 

I think it's more to do with the styles of both fighters rather than records.

Pavlik punches well in straight lines.
Abraham as an excellent defence against straight punches.

Close fight at 160.
Abraham wins at 168 due to Pavlik being unproven there and looking dreadful against Hopkins when he moved up.

Any weight, Abraham would stop Pavlik. Better boxer, better puncher, better defense and faster.

 

Boo, sorry to say but I think you are as blind as I was before Kelly and then AA took off my Miranda shades and I saw the reality. I can feel you man. Ive been there. Hey, KP can win this fight. He is a top fighter and would beat 80+% of the top 10 guys at any weight. But he has more flaws then you want to admit to and against the very best, the odds are stacked against him. He has the power to change the outcome and any moment, but Hopkins, Bute, Ward, Abraham, guys like that beat him almost every time they step in the ring. He has a 50/50 shot against guys like Froch, Williams, Kessler, Pascal. Even Martinez will show him trouble and I think can beat Kelly.

Hey, your guy cant always be THE best. He is a good and exciting fighter and I enjoy watching him. Just except the reality so your heart doesn't get crushed again.

Hermit.... I think you understand who Kelly is a lot better than Boo. I wish you both the best of luck and will be routing for Kelly on April 17th (maybe for selfish reasons )

 

In all honesty, Pascal has the potential to embarrass Pavlik ( and this is no disrespect to Pavlik who i like watching). Hes naturally bigger, 10x faster ( the fastest Kelley would have fought) has enough power to keep him honest, and he has the kind of foot speed that would give Kelley ( who has to plant his feet to get full leverage on his shots) nightmares. Pavlik's best opportunity to get to Pascal would be to catch him in an exchange, but Pascal has already shown a world class chin against Froch and Diaconu ( who both punches harder than Pavlik and is naturally bigger). I don't see Kelley being that effective above 160.

 

Pascal would definitely beat Pavlik! Pavlik is good but not an elite fighter and in all honesty he doesn't have the potential to become elite because he's not athleticaly gifted!!

 

Arthur would brutally knock him the **** out

 

I dont see Pascal as the 'elite' group listed above. Maybe I just cant get the two fights I saw him live in out of my head. Omar Pittman and Brian Norman, two guys that were hand picked to make Pascal shine, didnt make him look to good.

It has been awhile since then and Pascal has probably grown up. I am just not sold on him as being at the top.

 

Too bad Bob Arum is a fair bit more intelligent than you are, or he would've fed Pavlik to Arthur when he got the chance, three or four times over :deal
