In an interview made by a BOXING site, the interviewer TALKed with GBP CEO Richard Schaefer, who said that even if Pavlik didn't take Winky's offer, there are still two options left for Wright.

He said GBP is having a conversation with HBO about Winky fighting either Felix Sturm or Arthur Abraham. Of course it's Abraham who's ready an willing to step into the ring in the US as soon as he finished with his tune-up, and since Arum has no plans putting Abraham on the Pavlik-Lockett undercard anymore (it's Lee now who's fighting there), Winky vs. Arthur has to be a stong possiblity.

The most important news is that GBP and Winky Promotions are interested in fighting Abraham, Arthur is interested in fighting in the US and HBO is interested in the Armenian, and that's a pretty good combo.

Is Arum already avoiding Abraham? (Pavlik vs. Duddy and Pavlik vs. Lee plans - but no more news on Pavlik vs. Abraham, who's the 2nd best MW in the world).

As long as either Sturm or Abraham getting this fight in the US I would be pleased...

I really hope this fight happens. Whoever wins i bet gets pavlik next. The public would demand it and the money would def be there.

Winky will get whooped, and possibly stopped

He's looked damn awful recently. Footwork is slow, more easily hit than I've ever seen and generally looks like he's past his best

Hey, at least Arthur will finally have American TV exposure against a known opponent. :conf Not that this will stem the tide of "Pavlik or Taylor would destroy him!" lunacy, but still, it's a step in the right direction...

He will get his foot speed back when he goes back down to 160. He looked good against taylor and Ike in my opinion. I havent seen enough of abraham to make a prediction but i do think he will be fighting a dam good winky.

I'm not sure. Some of Arum's plans seem to be coming together for Pavlik. I think there was a business decision regarding the money for the next card. Arum wanted to put Pavlik on broadcast TV before the MMA deal was announced. He said point blank there would be no PPV. My guess is that he is trying to build interest in some bigger fights before he signs them. Pavlik/Abraham or Pavlik/Winky should both draw. But would they draw outside the fan base? I think the second Taylor fight told him something about what kind of draws Pavlik alone could generate. And it wasn't what he had hoped for.

BAD fight for Winky. They have similar turtle styles, but Abraham is the naturally bigger guy, much stronger and a huge puncher. I like Abraham by late stoppage.

I really hope Winky gets this fight before his big money opportuities fade into Bolivian.

I'd favor Abraham in this one but Winky would be a very live underdog.

Wright has nothing left and Abraham's a horrible style for him, Abraham by KO.

Pavglik; Abraham or Sturm who the **** cares?

Winky should put that aging ass back into the ring immediately . . . that's what I'm waiting to happen.

I'm tired of Winky talking about names and then starts bitching so that the fight wouldn't happen. :-(

Abraham's first fight in the US will not be against Pavlik. That was never the plan. Originally, before Duddy's poor performance against Smichet, Arthur was listed on Box Rec as having a fight at MSG on June 7th. When they had to drop Duddy out of the equation the money factor changed dramatically. It would be tough to come up with enough money to pay Pavlik and an opponent, and pay Abraham and an opponent. Pavlik and Abraham both command a hefty price tag, and no fighter in his right mind is getting in the ring with either of them unless it comes with a decent pay day. I'm pretty sure that's the problem.

I do like the idea of Abraham/Wright. If Abraham won, that would make a phenomonal US debut, especially if he won by KO or TKO.

If Winky won, Pavlik/Wright would be on for sure. Winky would then have something Kelly wants; the IBF title. Right now all he has is a record of 1-1-1 in his last 3 outings, and a reputation for boring fights. The IBF title would give him a lot more leverage.
