I don't know if you can go that far. You can go as far to say that after his MANDATORY defense, if he fights John DUDdy, he is officially ducking Abraham following these comments from Sauerland. Duddy could use some more time to beat a solid opponent anyways.
I think that some of these guys are forgetting that back when AA fought Miranda in Florida the Pavlik/Abraham January 24th date was pretty solid. Hopkins ****ed that up when he spent 12 rounds using Kelly's head for a speed bag:yep Pavlik/Abraham will happen sometime this year. Before it does, let me issue a challenge. Dig into Arthur's resume', and find me 3 different types of opponent. 1) Find one Miranda would not beat 7 shades of **** out of. 2) Find one Winky would not take to school for 12 rounds. 3) Find one that could stop KP from running over his ass in under 7 rounds.
Fighting Duddy is okay if they put AA in a co-feature against the winner of Giovanni Lorenzo/Dionisio Miranda (AA's next mandatory.)
Loew's comments were probably planned. Check out the thread I just started. Source is the local paper, but I can't find a link on their site. TBD (probably Duddy), Sturm, Abraham. Nothing short of brilliant promotion IF Arum can pull this off.
Here are the facts: 1. Abraham tried to fight Sturm but Sturm is ducking him. There is nobody else for Abraham to fight at MW, so he's been desperate to fight Pavlik, whom he's called out plenty of times. He's willing to fight Pavlik anywhere, anytime. 2. To build up a name in the USA, Abraham travelled to fight Miranda, making less money than he'd have made at home. Pavlik never came to fight in Germany to build up a name to attract Abraham. 3. Pavlik wants to stay at MW and defend his MW title. Abraham is desperate to move up as he can barely make weight any more. The only reason he's sticking around is to fight Pavlik. 4. Pavlik has no intention to move up, so he is forced to protect his MW titles as best he can. If he loses those, he's finished. Abraham has a good chance to win a title at SMW too, so he has less of an incentive to stick around. 5. Pavlik still has a big money low risk fight against Duddy at his disposal, so he is happy to talk the talk but not walk the walk when it comes to facing Abraham. If he can get Sturm too, when Abraham can't, he'll never fight Abraham! Conclusion: if anyone is stalling this, it's likely to be Pavlik. It's in his interest to not fight Abraham and hope the latter will just get tired of waiting for him and/or will no longer be able to make weight and will be forced to move up, leaving the whole division under Pavlik's control.
I think there is little doubt why Abraham came to the US to face Miranda. I'm with you on that one. That deed led to my avatar.
Fantastic Idea. Its the only fight to be made at middleweight while Sturm hides away with his belt following the Erdei blueprint.
Started by Boo saying AA had the balls of a rhino for making the second Miranda fight in Edison's back yard. I remembered that picture from another source. I tried to get him to wear the fig leaf. I still have scars from that.
Sauerland would be more than happy to finally set up the one fight the boxing world has been waiting for. “We are ready to fight Pavlik at any time and absolutely everywhere. Arthur would even come to his home town. If Pavlik and his people are really interested in coming to Germany, they should let us know officially. We would be more than happy to make an attractive offer.” It is today that King Arthur turns 29. To celebrate in style, coach Ulli Wegner has granted him – as well as his training partners – a whole day off from practice. The IBF champion will stage a party at Berlin´s famous Ritz-Carlton Hotel at the Potsdamer Platz. “The only reason why I am still fighting at middleweight is Kelly Pavlik,” King Arthur said. “I want his belts and I want to be super champion. My only birthday wish is a unification fight against him.” Sauerland claimed there was no reason for Pavlik to be afraid of losing his titles. “Arthur will move up to super-middleweight after he has defeated Pavlik,” the manager added. “Pavlik could fight for the vacant titles straight away and win them back.” This says it all...
Can't keep my posts straight. Too many threads, but just answered you SOMEWHERE!! I now believe Loew's comment was carefully scripted to keep the interest up.
