WTF? Go to baxxingwreck and check out his title defenses. This is when I wish Boo was still posting. I can't remember the name of his mando that he ducked to take on the great Ayala.
The coward Abraham also ducked Pavlik to fight the likes of Froch, Ward and Dirrell (who are bigger, stronger and better fighter than Pavlik btw). Yes, it makes perfectly sense Hermit, you're such a wise man.
If Abraham gets and beats Stieglitz, Pavlik should take that fight. After this past weekend, I am extremely dubious of any claims coming from the Garcia camp about guys making weights they haven't for years, and Abraham would be an extremely beatable opponent for a 168 trinket.
i'd be curious to know too... i didnt follow his entire run as belt holder..but know he fought miranda 2 times, there were always talks with KP, but dont remem...but he chased and begged his countryman forever (sturm) and that piece of garbage wasnt going to risk being chased out the ring... not to mention he was in the 168 pound thing and fought em all, not pulling out, faking,....hes a straight up dude from what ive read...no ones 100% gonna fight everyone if they can take break here and there...but hes no kessler either (speaking of ducks)
You ever see the "Three Stooges" episode where the ref says "no hitting below the belt" so they pull up the trunks over top of the head and cut eye holes? That's kinda what it is like fighting Abraham in Germany. Anytime he needs a break he simply looks at the ref who then takes a point.
He was having trouble making weight for a long time and they were protecting him hoping to get BIG money to face Pavlik. People thought Kelly was some kinda cash cow at the time. When they found out the money simply wasn't there he went into the SS.
Yeah, I tried but couldn't get the clip. Pretty funny though. For some reason the ref disallowed it though. I guess that was pre Paul Williams.
paul williams lives about 100 miles from me... but dude is skinny , he cant help that, they could fall down if he dont jack em high enough
Would be a good next step for Pavlik on his comeback. And I would love to see that fight, but I don't think it would be a real entertaining fight. I think Abraham would be in his shell even more the way Pavlik hits. If not Chavez jr, ighting Abraham is the next most logical fight in sept.
