If you like Abraham ...go to another thread :hi: I really don´t like Abraham and I seriously hope he gets KTFO as soon as possible. His amateurish style of hiding behind his gloves, doing almost nothing in the early rounds is just extremely boring, and for me this fight was a huge dissapointment. I seriously hope he does not resemble the future of boxing, if he does the sport would die soon. Your thoughts ?
AA is a smart, smart man and it didnt take him long to drop his hands and dictate the action. his approach is simple but he challenges his opponent to break him down.
lol... Actually his style is working for him. His "ropeadope" is very effective and he really hits hard - harder like anybody else in the tournament. Sorry mate, but AA is better than the haters believe.
If I'm honest, in most cases I root for the European over the American, but in this case I wanted JT to win after the first few rounds for his activity. Still though, I don't sympathize that much bearing in mind he threw very few rights all fight. The better man won, I look forward to seeing AA step it up
i agree. there werent many clean punches early in the fight but AA clearly has genuine power. AA beats froch hands down for me simply because i think hes the smartest fighter in this tournament. guys like dirrell and ward need to take him out of his comfort zone early and put doubt in his mind or he'll dictate and frustrate them both.
Agree completely. Fight was disappointing, boring. He does nothing for extended periods of time, hides behind the guard and seldom, he does a little jump/charge with wide hooks. That's about it. It has been effective but JT was crappy this fight, he threw a weak jab and that's it. Maybe not amateurish, but pretty boring. The really wide hooks are kinda amateurish though.
AA likes to be the... well, I wouldn't say counter-puncher, because he explodes more than counters. But him and coach Wegner understood that opening up on Taylor would be risky, and Jermain had that attitude too, so it was a boxing match. Arthur Abraham is NOT a puncher, he's a boxer, therefore his approach ultimately depends on the opponent's style. If the rival comes out swining, Abraham punishes hard and often, just watch the Oral fight, which was pretty exciting. If Dirrell will prove average powered and wild, expect Abraham to take a lot more risks and bang with Andre. Abraham is not amateurish. He might not look eye-catching, but that deceived about half of the posters here. In reality, he's very very smart and has a very effective style, and just bought that to the top-elite level.
Having a basic but solid defence is hardly amateurish. His wildness and constant appeal to raw power is often crudely unappealing, but you can't blame the guy for playing to his strengths.
