Do people truly believe that Abrahams gloves had been tampered with?

 

AA has a habit of KOing in the late rounds, often in the championship rounds. And he had 11 champion fights at MW in a row. Difficult to load gloves under the eyes of that many challengers, and their respective teams.

I agree the gloves' size seems smaller than Taylor's. If they are smaller, they probably are more dense to get to 8 oz. Could mean they are stiffer and deliver stronger punches.

I doubt there is anything wrong with the gloves. AA would never endanger his career or reputation for such a cheap trick. He moved up to SMW to actually prove something, and if this would get out, he'd be KTFOed by the fans and the press.

Some gloves are padded with lighter foam, then they are bigger - that actually gives an advantage on the defense, and protects the hands a bit better against taking damage. Other gloves, for example Reyes, have denser padding, then they are smaller, and deliver more impact, but also back to the hand (Vitalis hands broke by that). And they are more likely to let a punch slip through, or around.

The Adidas professional gloves are padded with horse hair, not foam.

I HIGHLY doubt Abraham's gloves were tampered with. He's known for late knockouts.

 

And for those with a remote grip on reality, if a boxer removes the padding, you can see this ON THE FACE of the opponent very quickly, especially with a puncher like Abraham. That immediately causes immense cuts, mice and swellings.
