Abraham's limitations are the scales at this point...i still say he will KTFO of Pavlik even at 160 cuz Pavlik will be right there in front of him...Abraham's chin wins it...

Arthur Abraham is easily the most over rated fighter on ESB.

Would love to see AA against librado andrade in SMW --> pure nightmare for AA...
AA seems limited - but he uses his benefits abselutely well. He always boxes like the way he did last night - the us boxer just had a grade a chin.

The "US boxer" was rated #43 at 160, and tonight was the first time he has ever even been on TV.

    .............he would be in trouble,eh??
:DWhich fight did you watch, mate! AA wasnt in trouble.Seldom was Simon able to connect with a meaninful punch during their encounter.Yes,he was the busier fighter, yes,he didnt let AA open the gate of his forth for quite a long period of time during every round of their fight, yes,he very often took AA's good and murderous shots quite well.
Nevertheless,he was the one at the receiving end of the big hammer. He was the one who looked as if he had had an accident with a truck. He was the one who didnt seem to be that keen on continuing fighting after round 11 anymore.
And by the way Simon turned out to be a very durable and tough fighter who is probably able to beat some of the fringe contenders at middle weight.
As for AA he showed a relatively weak performance in yesterday's encounter with Simon, but he wasnt in any serious trouble.

And that automatically makes him a bad fighter? Brilliant analysis as usual on your part.I wonder where you take the right to attack other people and their analysis yet anything you bring to the table are meaningless numbers and ridiculous comparisons between resumes of different fighters. I just love how the AA fancrowd gets under your skin and you making a fool out of yourself by trying to discredit AA everyway you can and justify everything Pavlik or his management does.

In yesterday's encounter with AA he nailed his true colours to the mast showing that he can hold his own with a top fighter.
Simon turned out to be a very durable and tough cookie who didnt enter the ring to lose.
Props to Simon for his game performance yesterday night.Better ranked fighters than Simon showed weaker performances against AA than Simon did yesterday.
Simon proved again that neither top fighters like AA or box aficionados like you and me should underestimate an undefeated fighter with a less than stellar fight record filled with modest scalps.

I bet my house that Simon would have won the fight with a jaw shattered AA if he had fought AA instead of Miranda (in their first encounter). Miranda wasnt able to take out a severely injured AA. Simon would have taken him out.I am absolutely sure of it!

Yes, Simon's previous career high payday was probably $20,000 or something in that park.....so sure, he'll take the deal.

I was not impressed with Abraham, not for the first time either. If it is THAT hard for him to perform at 160 lbs, he should move up to 168 lbs. In my view, if he cannot get a fight with Pavlik by the end of the year, he will anyway. Sprind 2010, I'd be really surprised if he fights at MW anymore.

i disagree with the thread i thought Abraham looked poorly conditioned for his fight. Didn't look like he trained that seriously. A fighter will not put in the same caliber performance every time.

2 or 3 bodyshots and Abraham was already lowering his arms. On the other hand you could see that Abraham landed some bombs to Simon's body but he was so well trained that it barely affected him. I'm not gonna say it was the weight but obviously his training regiment was not 100%

I'm not totally sold on Abraham and still think Pavlik could beat him. But he is a good fighter. Better than what we saw yesterday

    168Lbs here he comes...
If AA don't move up, The excuse of The Wt. loss won't stick as well.

That said, KP just accept a fight & K.O. AA or get K.O.

It wasn't because he was American, it was because he's Oscar De La Hoya.* Seriously though, what would have Sturm would have done, short of getting KO'ed (or a UD loss) after having to face the likes of Bernard Hopkins?

*I'm not saying that because I think he's great, in fact I think nearly he exact opposite.

I disagree a little bit. AA looked sluggush and slow. He looked terrible at the weigh in.

I do not think his weaknesses were specifically shown tonight. The have been exposed in the past by Miranda in the first fight for instance.
AA can be outworked if the other guy works for 3 minutes of each round (boxing variable body and head) and has a good chin.
