There are some plans for a championship-comeback for Arthur Abraham behind the curtains. He was middleweight champion until 2009. After his move up to super middleweight Arthur fights without crown. And that is said to be changed.
On saturday Abraham will meet Piotr Wilczewski from Poland, winner gets the champion....
Robert Stieglitz holds the WBO-title. He defends his title against Briton George Groves, out of David Haye's stable.
If Arthur wins this eliminator in Kiel, he gets the winner of the duel- and can crown himself again. This battle plan is to be announced by the WBO tomorrow.
If this will all work out, there will be two possible super fights after it. Promoter Kalle Sauerland: "With Arthur as world champion we could get started again. There are many interesting fights to be made."
On the one hand there is the brutal-strong Dane, Mikkel Kessler, who hangs around at light heavyweight at the moment. On the other hand there still is a fight with Felix Sturm considerable. Dreams of the future.
First, Arthur needs to iron the Pole Wilczewski in impressive manner.

Oh great. Abraham nursing a title against c level fighters and 'winning' rounds with a 30 second effort at the end of rounds. So exciting.

So AA wants to call out smaller guys already and he isn't even champ? Isn't Sturm still a MW?

Pavlik has been calling out a light-middleweight for years now, hasn't he ? :think And he actually lost to him. :patsch:patsch

Oh and maybe AA wouldn't "nurse" his title against c level fighters if putos like Sturm and PAWLIK actually accepted to fight him. :rofl:rofl:rofl

Sounds like selection. Stieglitz, Abraham and Kessler are Sauerland boxers. Maybe they want to throw one out?

This fight is his last chance! Abraham (32) fights the Pole Piotr Wilczewski ((33) tomorrow night in Kiel. If he wins, he will get his championship fight. If he loses, everthing's over. And Abraham is afraid of the end.
The Berliner to Bild:" The pressure is tremendous - too much. Everybody expects me to win. It's all or nothing."
Promoter Kalle Sauerland: "If Arthur loses, I give him the advise to retire."
Abraham, 33 wins and 3 losses, will fight again at super middleweight. It's the weightclass where he already lost 3 fights. Now it's about his career, that had its peak from 2005 to 2009 when he was middleweight champion.
Trainer Ulli Wegner (69):" Arthurs gestures and mimic expressions show a lot of tension". He tries to distract his boxer with long walks.
His opponent Wilczewski has been European champ (30 wins, 2 losses). Will he finish Abrahams career? Super champ Sturm thinks: If there are good boxers in the ring with Abraham, Arthur, he will be humble-looking."
Abraham:" I've been dreaming of Wilczewski. And I wake up winning."
Hopefully there won't be a nightmare tomorrow.
