Yeah. Abril seems pretty up for the fight, but Rios is Rios. Funny thing is that Rios understands more Spanish than he speaks. Some of his trainers work exclusively in Spanish with him.

Speaking of Mexicans that don't speak Spanish, Alvarado vs Herrera should be a decent fight as well.

In Mexico, Americans of Mexican descent aren't embraced.

That is so true. I attended college in Guadalajara and based on my experiences I was generally viewed as an outsider. People would try to explain the "culture" to me even if I understood a particular custom. Moreover, they would ask me if I understood what people said even if I understood them.

I did not feel unwelcome however I just felt like they people assumed I did not understand certain customs as I was not one of them.

No, he is right. If Im a mexican/american doctor, Im american. If Im a mexican/american cholo, Im a mexican, beaner, ******* and a product of mexico, not american.
Funny how the whole cholo crap started here in america/ us, but is viewed as mexican gangster culture.

Anyway, Rios can barely speak english, much less spanish. Ignorant mofo, but great to watch.

It´s like that in any other place I guess......
I mean....a argentinian with spanish heritage is not viewed by spanish people as a "brother".......

It is a stupid thing for Abril to say. Manuel, Brandon's Dad speaks or understands very little english. Brandon's mom is Mexican American and speaks both lanquages. Brandon and all his siblings understand spanish and can speak it well enough to comunicatel. Brandon speaks spanglish. Abril speaks a Cuban influenced spanish. Big difference.

Rios might understnad Spanish be can't speak it. I give him credit for trying now and then, though it sounds bad. But he can say all the cuss words perfectly. :yep

If you know spanish you can understand it no matter where it's from Colombia, Mexico, Cuba etc... Sure there might be different accents and a word here or there. But it's the same, like a Texan and a Bostonian speaking. It's English, but different accents and some word used a little differently.

But none of that will matter when they get in the ring. I'm really looking for an action packed bout :thumbsup
