  1. well obviously low body fat and you must do some other form of excersize which indirectly targets abs , from seeing some of your comments on here i guess you eat well

Source of these opinions? And why do you think you need to work the abs 5 days a week?

Yeah. But you're saying to have a decent set of abs you must train abs directly, extremely hard. It's just not true.

Thats why proprereceptive work is brilliant for there conditioning

  6. source of the opinion is if you went to the boxing gym i used to train at everyone will tell u they do high reps

  7. yes but the guy who started this thread doesnt have a 6 pack and hes been doin low reps on his abs , if thats so then he needs to do more reps and burn up some fat

All right, this is the thing, I think there's a difference between having your abs showing clearly, which is diet, and actually having strong, impact resistant abs ie- the muscle is thick and durable and protective. I do think you need to do a lot of stomach conditioning to be thin and have a lot of impact resistance in your abs, but I won't argue that some people can get good definition just from lowering their fat (ie - could be from diet).

BUT you want them to be well conditioned for impact resistance, too, and that takes DIRECT AB WORK.

That means nothing to no-one. You could just make anything up and say something like you said.

Again, I have defined abs, and I've never done direct ab work at the gym. It's true the abs need work, but not the stupidly high volume you're saying and it also does not require direct work.

  13. the ab work i posted is not stupid high volume , thats just a basic ab workout , some will do ab work with reps into the thousands

Because I am vain, sometimes I used to look at bodybuilding work outs and stuff, and a lot of them advocate no direct ab work, and I realized this is because their entire ethos is NOT in functionality, but in how something looks.

Realistically Ronnie Coleman is very very strong, and one of the stronger bodybuilders, but he is still not very strong compared to the fat huge slugs who train for strength and compete in strength competitions.

So yes, for aesthetics, I don't think you necessarily absolutely need a lot of ab work, but muscles DON'T get strong all by themselves. What does it hurt to DO isolated ab work? Will squats help Manny pac take a shot to the body? Is that how he improved his body punch resistance? Not eating as much? No, he does a hellacious ab routine that burns and then has middleweights punch him in the stomach on top of it.

The OP asked how to get a defined six pack. Why you've joined the conversation going on about being able to take a punch and bodybuilders I don't know.
