I think there are a few that are pretty hard to argue with, but they aren't all that interesting, and don't tell you much. The historical facts of the fighters' records on Boxrec would be another one. Pretty hard to argue against the claim: "The judge(s) gave Joe Frazier a UD over Muhammad Ali in 1971."
The problem is that no one knows they are one of the people who don't know **** about boxing. Could be me or you. Naaaahhhh.
I belong to one or two Facebook boxing groups where some of the members, who by virtue of belonging to such a group, automatically seem to assume themselves experts on the subject and they know almost nothing. The pool here is actually pretty deep.
Although I am a fan of a ridiculously wide variety of sports, this is the first forum or group I have ever been a member of. I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of members who have solid knowledge and rational ideas. In fact, other than the amount and depth of Canelo hate and Usyk love I find this forum very well balanced and enjoyable.
The " Magic Bottle " in Pryor vs Arguello #1 is very overblown. Reasons. #1No drug ingested through the stomach would work that quickly in the time left in that fight. #2 Pryor was simply a better fighter than his wild man persona would suggest, especially when one looks at the entirety of his career, including the amateur history. #3 He did give Arguello a rematch, beat him easier the 2nd fight. #4 He was a better Jr. Welter than Arguello, not at all a better fighter historically than he was. #5 Not one person in his corner that night, and all the hanger-ons and hype men have ever said their was something shady in that corner that night. After all these years.
Maybe ..... So why would the saintly Panama Lewis say " no not that one, the bottle I mixed earlier " or words to that effect, their is no doubt surely that the bottle contained something other than water No ? keep well.
