Martinez is there for the taking, de bella doesnt want no part of GGG. But, Murray proved again that he is a world class fighter and I feel he was far too under rated prior to his fight with Martinez. And it wasnt a disgraceful decision, I have no problem with the fight going either way, it was close. Now, lets have Murray-Barker, nothing stopping that fight being made next.
That's on Murray, quite honestly. Why not more criticism for him taking his foot off the gas when he could have put the fight beyond doubt?
Well i guess it was the score cards that pissed alot of people off, but hey mexican and argentine tv had Murray winning
Because I'm not really thinking in terms of points, probably! I must have put a drawn round down in the app.
Thats bull**** though. Who the champion/home fighter is should be irrelivent to an expirienced judge. There was no robbery. That fight could have been anything from 115-112 to Martinez to 115-112 to Murray. Plus you have to factor in the other knockdown.
I very much doubt that it would have made a difference. He probably needed a stoppage to win, and even that isn't always enough in these situations (Bute/Andrade).
Look, even if Murray had won every round clearly, there was no way a Brit would take glory in Argentina. At the end of the day Murray silenced the crowd and made Sergio look like a bit of a clown.
Haven't seen any of the fights from last night. Was well chuffed to wake up to hear Murray done himself proud. Noticed a few lads mentioning giving up the last two rounds. Sounds like the Sturm fight where he didn't force the issue enough. Props to him, Need a quality HBO link for fight don't want to watch it with the Argentians going loony . Need ringwalks as well, Heard Murray's walk to ring was hostile. Murray's a good fighter, I was wrong about him 2 years ago. Thought he was robotic and going European level max. Proven world class operator :deal.
If Murray had schooled Martinez for 12 rounds, he still wouldnt have got it. And if he had those Argies would have wrecked the joint.
Yeah. I massively underated him myself. He's a very solid all round fighter. Thought SM was going to muller him. In the end he was a tiny bit fortunate to keep his crown.
Can't believe what I just heard. During round 7 Harold Lederman explains the WBC rule is if there is an accidental headbutt where one fighter gets cut, then at the end of he fight the non cut fighter has a point deducted to even things up!
