Ok, then name me some guys who would be considered acceptable opponents. I named 10. Feel free to add or subtract from the list.

OP's list is good, however some of those guys need to stack up more meaningful wins to be contenders...

i just can't wrap my head around mayweather vs ggg tbh.... why weight drain ggg to light middleweight? then when he loses accuse mayweather of weight draining his opponent

A fight with Golovkin at JMW is useless. It would have to take place between 157 and the full MW limit. I don't see Mayweather ever fighting at MW, so I don't believe a fight between he and Golovkin will ever happen.

    In no particular order

Khan, Thurman and Garica: for 2015, whoever gets a good win or 2 against top 5 or 10 WW's in the next 12-18 months would be acceptable fight for Mayweather imo. Surely 1 or 2 of that 3 will get wins vs the likes of Guerrero, Porter, Brook, Broner, even the likes of Matthysse if he goes up to WW.

    Pacquaio - Obviously

    Bradley - Legit P4P fighter.

Lara at 154 - Mainly due to styles and size.

Provodnikov and Kirkland: Not best options but if both keep improving and post good wins for 2014 and Floyd slows, it might become an option.

I agree with you and I'm honestly tired of people bringing up GGG's name when they talk about Mayweather's next opponent.

Mayweather is way too small to be trying to secure a fight above the LMW limit. I bet Mayweather can make LWW if he wanted to. We have to be realistic here.

If Duran went from 135 to beating up Barkley and Sam Langford was 156 when he fought Jack Johnson, the least Floyd could have done was fight a prime Sergio at 154 or fight 154 Golovkin in the future.

floyd, does not have the frame to do so! why are ggg & martinez scared to fight ward please ? answer that one! The reason why floyd is not popular is, he is a master of his craft which antagonises the haters like you! Why the hell did nobody ask marvin to fight spinks or qwai?

floyd wants slow plodding boxers. khan is too fast. floyd likes it easy. guerrero, cotto, canelo, maidana fit the bill. he can run all night and they will never catch him

And when you can't find anything else to say, always resort to using this tactic. Such a stupid argument.
