When a fighter has five fights in a row where there are cuts inflicted as a result of 'accidental' headbutts, a pattern has clearly been established. Points are deducted and DQs issued when there are blatant fouls. However, if a fighter continuously throws the head recklessly under the guise of the normal rough and tumble of a bout, should there be consequences ? While Bradley would likely have prevailed without the head advantage, his constant clashing of heads was clearly, at best, reckless. Same with Andre. And we know who the other culprits are too. Do we need something like three-strikes-and-you're-out here ? If a fighter has already inflicted two 'accidental' cuts in a bout, should he not be forced to take responsibility for not inflicting further damage ? Once is an accident. Twice is getting careless. Three times ought to merit consequences. Thoughts ?
Commentators citing you have head butted on the last 3-5 fights is a sign that accidental is not really accidental, and hides under the guise oh we're both coming forward and blah blah blah. intentional is intentional.
the first butt that caused the cut looked intentional and the last one did also although i'm not entirely sure about the last one.
I'd be fine with the 3-strikes policy. It's ridiculous how fighters get away with this "accidental" crap.
I am never going to watch a Tim Bradley fight again. I'm sick of this. I woke up early to watch the fight live here in Russia, and it was a repeat of Bradley-Campbell.
Fan of Bradley here but something obviously needs to be done. Means nothing if it is accidental, he needs to watch were he points the dome. Too many fights getting cut short.
Yet again a Bradley fight where a head butt is pivotal. These accidental head butts never seem to physically go against Bradley, his opponent always comes out worse. I like Bradley, I didn't like Alexanders antics last night, however... Alexanders corners do have a point that Bradley does seem to come out well from accidental butts. In his last 5 fights they've been pivotal to the fight. His head is one of his biggest weapons.
maybe he can't help himself. damn. after the campbell fight, he didn't acknowledge his headbutting was costing the fans a good fight. Now, I see that the reason he can't rise into a ppv star is that he's bound to involve himself in accidental headbutts. That dome of his is not meant for boxing... soccer maybe.
Sounds to me like a bunch Alexander excuse makers. If you look at every butt in the fight they were the result of two fighters coming forward at the same time. You didn't have one fighter putting his head under a fighters chin on the inside and riding up with it. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR YOUR BAD FIGHT PICS
