According to GGG haters 75-25 purse bid is unfair to Jacobs but Ward's 71-29 split to Kovalev is ok

In terms of accomplishment and where they stand in boxing I agree, Kov is greater than Jacob. Needless to say bigger balls as well.
However in terms of popularity in America, that is up for debate.

71-29 is ok because the fight got made and boxing fans shouldn't worry about how the fights get made, just that they do.

Is this a real post on these forums? I surely hope not!

Let me explain a not so subtle difference

Kovalev agreed to terms easily without fuss. Not once did it ever appear Ward v. Kovalev was ever in trouble of not being made. There was zero struggle to get the fight done. And Kovalev was the champion willing to take less. You might have had a point if there was ever some balking on Kovalevs part.

It appears to Jacobs is looking to take advantage of Golovkin a little bit. Im sure alot of guys are going to try to do so. There seems to be a little backlash now from fans about Golovkins opponents. And Im sure Jacobs is looking to gain every inch he can knowing Golovkin needs a credible opponent. Any credible opponent from here on out probably will do the same to Golovkin. It may not be fair but its the hole I think Golovkins resume has dug for himself. Also Jacobs could prob make similar money, if not the same, fighting much more winnable fights so this is going to have to be worth it to him. Kovalev wasnt making 2 million dollars against anyone else.

Difference is Kovalev did something Golovkin or Jacobs won't do: accept a small purse for the chance to achieve greatness.

Kovalev deserves MAJOR props for doing what it takes to get the fight made.

Golovkin is a much bigger name in the sport than Jacobs. But I think Golovkin needs a credible opponent more than Jacobs because of that. Jacobs could probably get similar money fighting someone like Lee so Golovkin is going to have to make it worth it for Jacobs.

Jacob needs to take the money or vacate. In terms of Kovalev he's team got him a bad deal I was saying it was unfair the champ takes a small split but he is a warrior and saw the opportunity of having a big scalp and career high pay day which is something ggg needs to do with Canelo.

I agreed with a lot things you mentioned in your post.

I don't think anyone argues that GGG should get an even split with Canelo. 70/30 in both cases in favour of the "A side" should befine.

Very logical and reasonable post. This cannot be refuted. They are both attempting to **** each other financially before they fight.
