According to GGG haters 75-25 purse bid is unfair to Jacobs but Ward's 71-29 split to Kovalev is ok

C'mon man lol. Has triple G ever fought anyone that actually fought back? Ouma? Canelo has never gone into survival mode. We have seen Canelo pushed, never seen triple G even tapped.

Jacobs can say no to 25/75 all he wants. I couldn't care less. There are better fights for GGG than Jacobs.

If canelo cannot hurt cotto, I doubt it can hunt ggg. If ggg fight smart, this will be a repeat of the Lemieux fight.

Canelo has never taken the measures to avoid a fight the way he has with GGG, straight away I know he doubts his chances with GGG, Canelo is more proven in his career for sure but boxing is more a mental game and if you go in their resigned to losing you will just look at Walters.

Negotiations... one side can say yes. They can also say no.

Plenty of cases of fighters taking less than they do or think they do deserve to elevate themselves from the platform they would get with the opportunity. Doesn't seem Golovkin or Jacobs have ever really wanted to go that route, however, in line with the so very few to none toward the top level who ever do these days.

Bottom line is anybody would need a massive financial breakdown of investment/profit ratio of every aspect of both Golovkins and Jacobs fights to decide how fair the deal is. And none of us have that access. And that's true for every case of "failed negotiations" between two camps. You jump on the forums and you think half the posters were Kathy Duva, Oscar, and Dunkin themselves... But if I'm guessing, 25% against Golovkin nets Jacobs more than whatever total he COULD actually get from anyone else at this moment.

It's a very short list of fighters who'll willingly take less in order to get fights made, especially once their name's built. Until recently, GGG was one of them in that he'd give a generous split in order to fight frequently and (usually) land a ranked opponent. As he's gotten older, he's shifted more in to max-out payday mode- fewer fights, bigger purses, bigger splits.

Canelo did give a generous split vs Cotto as it relates to U.S. PPV. He also had a great deal from Mexican TV to subsidize that, but credit where it's due. Kovalev's got a track record of it: he only got a third of the money vs Hopkins, and Dawson and Kovalev got just about 30% vs Ward.

That's also why I find it kind of strange that Andre talks about the purse from the first fight as though he was the B-side and insists it has to be better next time around. Kovalev has a history of both traveling and taking shorter splits to get fights made, and he didn't make close to 50/50 with Andre for the first match. Essentially, he's a higher level Glen Johnson from a promotional sense and how he's ran his career.

Except for ggg being many levels above kovalev in every single attribute AND if they went h2h ggg would khtfo, no question asked.

I used to believe kovalev was only a level or such below ggg, but now I know for a fact he isn't anywhere remotely close to ggg in any asset.

That's also taking into account his performance vs ward which in my eyes kovalev proved to be the superior fighter, superior boxer but having inferior stamina and mettle, ward proved to be the lessor in strictly talent but the superior grit and need to, if you understand what I'm saying, they both proved to be both inferior and superior fighters to each other.

all I know is ggg would had annihilated both kovalev and ward that night at any weight ggg decided to enter at

It was the supposed top tier fighters reluctance to face him that made him the boogeyman. I don't think he's as good as they all believe him to be. Sure he'd be favourite to beat the current crop but he's not invincible like they're carrying on.

Anyone would think he's been ending people's careers with his opening couple of shots the way the like of Jacobs and co. are behaving.

We'll see how good GGG is when he finally steps up, because what Brook was able to do may be an indication he might be highly overrated... I'll give him credit for a Jacobs win though, that's a start.
