Simply put Wards overall accomplishments combined with his earned apperception of the sport. He's obviously well above the pay grade of maybe half if not three quarters of the men currently on the list. You can certainly chose to omit him it's your preference I can't tell you your wrong, you are merely a product of your environment thus selecting what and who comes natural to you brother. I could detail what puts him above even GGG on a grandualr level and it wouldn't sway your opinion either way so why fight it. Conversely trying to convince me otherwise would be a complete waste of energy. It is what it is

If I had the choice of a set of skills to take in the ring against any fighter my first choice would be Gonzales and my second would be Ward.

Huh? Crawfords resume is at least on par with Golovkins.

Crawford needs to fight the top guys at his natural weight of 140 first. People can say what you want about GGG but at least he's fighting everyone at 160 that will fight him :hi:

Postol vs Crawford should be easy to make but we shall see

A little on the high side; but when it comes to p4p with such a small pool of fighters (one generation) you can justify basically anything.

Seems fine in the short term. Both are 2 of the best. I don't see either being a mainstay there in their current places, once the other guys mentioned in the OP (Crawford amd Ward most notably) get in a couple of significant performances this year. I can see Ward being moved to #3 if he looks good against Barrera...or Kovalev at #1 and Ward at #2. This will set up the showdown. GGG will move down as soon as Crawford beats (if he does) Postol. And he will move under Chocalatito who will be at #3, if Kovalev and Ward take over 1 and 2. Bradley could also edge GGG if he wins clearly against Pacquiao.

GG is not even in my top 15. He's closer to 20. Kov's ranking is a step or two high but no complaints here.

P4P always been a BS subjective list because it means something different to everybody. Serious pugilist fans should not support it. Ring magazine has no credibility and should die already. Why Crawford is in the P4P list? It's the eye test. After that's why GGG is on the list without the credentials and resume to back it up.

Pay grade isn't, and never should be, an indication of a fighters skill.

The Ring has largely been a complete joke for years now. Particularly their P4P lists over the recent years have been somewhat laughable, similar to having Golovkin P4P #3.

Kazuto Ioka legit deserves to rank higher than Golovkin. He has four wins that would all be Golovkins' very best, head and shoulders so... Golovkin in the top 5 of a P4P list? Haha, OK.
