The former 4 times world champion Acelino Freitas is planning a comeback in a 10 round fight. He will fight an Argentinian or an American in a fight to celebrate the 10 years of his first world title. Popó says he is in shape and the fight will be at LWW. He will also train 5 months for this fight, which will be in August 7th. However, Freitas says he doesn't want title fights anymore. I'll post the link of the Brazilian website if it is allowed.
That's good. If he wants to fight on small level bouts because he misses boxing and wants to make a little bit of money, then more power to him. I just don't want him fighting against the elite fighters of boxing anymore or he might seriously get hurt.
That's awesome but how plausible is this? I do not know how he maintained his physical shape. Anyway some lower world class fights can't do wrong.
too bad for him, he is just one big fight away from a hall of fame career...still, one of my favorites
Well, this is the source http://esporte.uol.com.br/boxe/ultimas/2009/03/17/ult4358u343.jhtm Somebody erase if this is not allowed.
should give casamayor a rematch...will sell good in brazil. but i personally think he's a quitter,he will be back to fight some unknown name just to cash a few bucks.
It will probably be an easy fight and if he does well, he might fight better opponents. Probably a Barrios or Casamayor rematch.
if youre not in the game to be on top, then you shouldnt be in the game at all. i oppose his come back if its to fight tomato cans lol...journey men are a disgrace in my eyes...who in their right mind would get beat up for a living..arent you supposed to live off what youre good at?? that shouldnt be getting beat up
i think freitas was a great boxer with natural skills, but he got labeled as a puncher for the time he was KO's all those samba dancers in brazil, then when he step on the competition he didnt KO anybody else...but he displayed great boxing skills outboxing corrales for 7 rounds or so and beating casa at his own game(close fight)...he didnt have a big heart either and got very emotional with every fight.
Definitely one of my favs, as my avatar shows. But, he quit in the diaz fight and that shows his desire is not there. But, should we be surprised he is coming back? Most boxers come back.
I think Freitas will end up in a big fight or title fight anyways, he's too much of a big name to pass up on for fighters and promotors.
He is good to watch so im glad he is back.I dont know how much he can achive though,i guess we will only know after a few fights.
Dude quit like twice in fights. I mean aint he rich? The way he quit with Diaz was very ***** like. Then they carried yo around. What the **** is up with Brazillians.
