If he wins he earns a crack at Jeff Fenech for the vacant Seniors title.

He was always a naturally a little guy I would have to see what he's cut like if he's pudgy and out of shape then he needs to stay where he's been one thing about PoPo though he did have some power so if that came along with him it could change some things so maybe...

    WAR POPO!!

Oliveira is scum for even doing this (let alone he pursued it)

He needs to be KTFO. Come on, Boxing Gods. Throw us a bone here.

This isn't a comeback. It's a one-off against the first Boxer to be remotely popular since Popo. And while Oliveiras sucks, this should be an easy win for him to build his name there. This is just a paycheck.

Hopefully this would respark Brazil's interest into the sport again

How do most Brazilians feel about the way Popo ended his career.

Nah. They're too busy watching soccer and MMA (which is dominated by a discipline they basically hijacked from Japan and re-named after themselves :yep)

Oliveira will NEVER be what Popo was.

Being that they'd devoutly followed the bulk of his career up to that point and therefore didn't just judge him by the nature of his losses once he'd lost a step (as most of the global boxing community seems to have selectively done in hindsight, ignoring everything else that should have actually defined his career) - I'm sure they didn't mind too much.

He was criticized because the way he quit against Corrales and Diaz......and his career as a politician didn´t work well, many people really dislike him nowadays.....but even so most of the people would love to see him win this next bout....
Everyone knows that Oliveira is nothing special.....and nobody likes him actually because he is a bit too "cocky" sometimes, not really a charismatic guy.

But it's gotta hurt to see him go out the way he did.

Im not Brasilian, but was a huge Freitas fan and was gutted by the way he
looked in that fight, especially at the end of round 8.
