It was obvious before that fight was even over that Freitas' career was done. He was jubilant and celebratory because he was saying goodbye to his fans and thanking them. The moment was bigger than just the immediate fight that preceded it.

 

I could understand that had he only done that against Juan Diaz in the last fight of his career but he did the same against Corrales three years earlier so that goodbye to the fans excuse doesnt cut it.

 

I was a big fan of Freitas. I saw him live 2 times and he lost both of them.

 

At least you saw some good action before it was all said and done.

That also means you saw Ruslan Provodnikov very early in his development! (on the Diaz-Freitas undercard)

I don't how your math works, but if Cortez never call the slip a knockdown, and instead of taking d point, warning them (both of them, Popo started d exchange and Casa finish it) Casamayor would had win that fight. You c there was never a KD! FF blow d call.

 

He was running from Casamayor, it didn't surprise me when he quit, the only reason he fought Corrales was because he saw those 3 fights against Casa, and thought he could ko Corrales, what a mistake!

 

I'm a pretty big Cepillo fan (maybe more than a Popo fan) and don't remember being too pissed off...

I'll have to give it a fresh viewing.
