I do not have any tear in my tendon but because I have a bad habit of walking indoors in training shoes (that support the heel a bit too well) I have noticed that I have subtly moved away from the correct walking technique. This is no big deal for me as I had a poor technique as a kid and corrected it to stop straining my Achilles. Whilst I am at it I think that I should ask about performing exercises to prevent injury. I know a few but think that this is worth a topic since it is imperative to avoid tendon injuries and it can probably help quite a few people. Cheers.
Make sure they're well-warmed up, number one... Any calf excercises should strengthen the tendons. And then stretching excercises to keep them loose should help avoid injuries too.
Ah. I forgot about this thread - guess it was not too popular. Well, I have practiced walking and seem to be fine now. There are some good videos on youtube that provide vital advice. I want to be ultra cautious because I have not sprinted in a while.
