So about 2 days ago I was watching "Resurrecting The Champ" and noticed a similarity in the actor playing the young champ and a boxer from the contender series. So I look up the movie on-line for the casting and to my astonishment It was indeed Troy Amos-Ross! How surprising lmao . . He ALSO played a role in Cinderella Man. I guess some Contenders had previous acting experience :yep oh, :deal (Love putting that smiley).
is it really a surprise that guys who would try out for the contender would also leap at opportunities to play a boxer in a movie? heck, most the fighters from the contender series merely played boxer's on television. sakio bika is a notable exception to this comment. you're noticing that is interesting and i'm not downing your post at all. i am just not very keen on the contender series and the way it propelled hoax legends of alfonso gomez, peter manfredo, sergio mora and so on. i know mora got over on forrest when forrest took the night off, but, the point remains...that junk has as little to do with getting good fighters with good stories publicity as the ring belts have to do with being the best in a given division.
old news. but i cant understand that movie the dude was really a supposed satterfield opponent but he's not listed on boxrec is that movie really a true story ?
