I see two guys who know how to use distance, who can throw a proper jab. I see Vitali feinting the jab to land the right. I see Vitali throwing a lead right straight down the pike. And that was in a minute of rewatching the fight.

My advice for the earlier poster goes to you, also. Maybe this isn't the sport to follow.

You asked the board what we think of Mike "The Giant" White.
I said "He was a journeyman".
What exactly is so hard to grasp about that ?

Journeyman isn't a "look", it's a level that a fighter reaches, better than a bum, but not a contender.

The same people who compare these guys to real skilled super Heavyweights like Lewis and Vitali, probably also think Marciano would be undisputed today. I wouldn’t pay much attention to them.

Thing is, no one compared Lewis and Vitali to these guys on this thread.
I mentioned their names. Just referring to the crude slugging match that they had in 2003, not the overall quality of the fighters across their careers.
But, predictably, it's something people here live in deep denial about. That can't accept that two giants in 2003 had a crude slugging match. where defensive skill virtually went out of the window

McGrain (who is unbiased and balanced and not involved in the petty "modern v old-timer" stupidity of this forum) also stated the truth and knew exactly what i was getting at, and explained it better.

And, no Marciano wouldn't be undisputed today. Maybe at light-heavyweight.

Too much has changed in the sport for somebody like Marciano to come around now. I think earlier champions benefited from the matchmaking of that time when the sport was full of more seasoned fighters.

And that’s not the fault of more physically equipped enhanced fighters today.

Likewise, it wouldn’t suit the modern fighter to be around then anymore than it would suit the old champion to be around now.

Each champion was simply the kind of fighter you had to be in order to succeed in the sport as it was then.

And it’s the same with Carnera when he was a champion and it was the same when Lewis was a champion. AJ and Tyson Fury represent what is required now.

Next to bringing up a synchronized video of him and your modern skilled SHWs
Srsly, you want this thread to become another landmark of (this time: your own conceptive) wonderland, like we had in another Carnera thread? :D

    PS:
I´m so glad to read this lol
By the way, there are many tapes of slugfests on russian streets @ YT. Not sure if these are with SHWs though....

I have no idea what you are talking about.

It's pretty obvious Victorio Campolo and Mike White were crap, and Primo Carnera and Jorge Luis Gonzalez were better but a bit crap too.
Do you really need me to study the video second-by-second, talk you through it ?
What point are you trying to make here ?
