That would be somewhat ironic would it not?

Well, he pretty much avoided coming to America during his prime. It wasn't one fighter he avoided. He just avoided the risk of coming here and going up against the likes of RJJ, Toney, Hopkins, etc during their prime years.

So you are agreeing with me in that this fight was not realistic to begin with.

Not really. I don't see what is so unrealistic. If this is true, and I've no idea if it is really, the terms are perfectly generous.

    God you are so biased.

So if Taylor is willing to risk his belts and travel to Europe, it makes sense. But if Calzaghe were to come to the U.S., it would be a bad move? Too funny.

When did I ever say its a bad move for Calzaghe? If the right offer comes along, as it did with Hopkins, I've no problem with him going to America and braving the judges.

My bad, i thought that's what you meant.

But the point here is that the Calzaghe camp wanted JT to come to Europe and there really is no incentive for the unidsputed MW champ to travel outside the US. That's all i'm saying.

Can we please have a board rule that if anyone has such a loose grasp of time as to mention James Toney as a fighter avoided by Joe Calzaghe that they automatically loose whatever argument they are making. Preferably backed up by some kind of auto ban from the internet. And electrocution, that would be fair.

So how do we judge what constitutes "ducking"

Do you just decide by some arbitrary criteria? So its acceptable for Taylor because there is no "incentive", in other words the deal isn't correct, so you've obviously been privy to the Kessler-Miranda negotiations and seen the contracts right?

Mayorga. **** with Vargas he eventually agreed to fight 2 weight classes above the original agreement just to get the fight made.

    Oh, the bias continues.

First off, the Miranda/Kessler fight was all but done. The location was established and Kessler already agreed to come over to the U.S. But as the fight drew closer, his camp made some odd demands and even after they were met, they didn't go through with it.

That is a stark contrast to the initial ball park offerings made by Calzaghe's camp.

And he would have had to have moved up in weight?
