Yeah, I don't use specific matchups to rank fighters or whatnot, just like to provoke responses on certain stylistic mash-ups. Especially an odd one, and I never explain because everyone has their own idea for what it would look like for a fighter from around the pre-Walker Law era to fight a fighter that is relatively modern. I would allow a degree of clinching, but if overtly excessive they get pulled up for it. I'll assume these men aren't complete idiots and can respond to instructions for the benefit of a hypothetical discussionI don't know the ins-and-outs of Wolgasts resume, but like a lot of fighters from that era, he was DQ'd a few times. And as 'modern' boxers have an apparent advantage what with their training methods, I allow the older fighters to use the gloves of their choice, therefore they're bringing something else to the table. That's a different kind of hurt, and an awkward stylistic proposition in some caes (although I don't go for all this 'Fitz would beat a Heavyweight from today' bull**** some come out with)
I wasn't too impressed with Wolgast against Moran either, it was more an old time type of fight with Wolgast roughing up Moran and beating him down. He looks better against Nelson though, perhaps because Nelson was a pressure fighter while Moran was a skilled boxer whom Wolgast had to walk down while you never had to look for Nelson.
