Both Canelo and G have incredible chins. I think that's one thing we can agree on. And if you remember before the fight I stated the fight would probably go the distance becuase of how well each guy can take a punch. Most people were predicting knockout, I wasn't.

Same here, I thought it would go the distance too.

That's actually the main reason I predicted a Canelo decision, just looked at how tough Canelo was and thought he could take GGG's power.

That's why I made this thread. I was pointing out that Adalaide Byrd was the only judge who had it extremely close. While everyone is crucifying her for her 118-110 in Canelo Triple G, I think we need to look at some of her other cards to evaluate her overall as a judge. And I don't want to hear about her MMA judging, that's a completely different sport.

Good points. I see a lot of similarities here between these two fights as well. Only difference is that Canelo is a much bigger puncher than B Hop was vs Calzaghe. But in terms of making the opponent miss, using upper body movement, fighting off the back foot, etc Canelo did a lot of things vs G that Hops did vs Calzaghe. That's why I rate Canelo so highly in terms of overall skill. Because he really is the complete package, he has the defensive mastery of a Floyd or a Hopkins, combined with fast hand speed for a MW plus massive punching power. And one thing he showed vs G which many people didn't think he had was quality footwork.

Canelo has a huge neck... well suited for absorbing big shots. He's got a chin for sure.

It was a foul, hence why Canelo shook his head, should have been deducted a point and Canelo wins on two judges scorecard.

Make another poll and see what consensus you are talking about.
Judges shouldn't have preference of style or nationality or else he/she is not fit to be a judge. Can you imagine Anek Hongtongkam only score for Asian fighters?
    Stop defending the indefensible.
You really have too much time in your side.

Well hasn't even the deluded Hopkins admitted this loss,in the run up to Khan v Canelo he said Calzaghe was nightmare to face, like getting stung by a swarm of bees lol.

Well where the punch landed is usually a foul, but Canelo had his head tilted while facing forward. I can't really call that a foul personally. It wasn't a rabbit punch. I'm guessing that's why Canelo shook his head, because it hit him in the back of the head.

By the way, this is one of the reasons why I scored Round 4 for Canelo and Round 5 for G. Canelo managed to fight off the ropes effectively without getting tagged in Round 4, which is hard to do, especially vs G. And Canelo was doing well in Round 5 before going to the ropes with just over a minute left in the round, but behind the ear or not, G finally managed to tag him in Round 5. Even though I thought Canelo controlled the first half of round 5, that punch changed the fight. Canelo showed tremendous chin and recuperative powers, but I mean sometimes for me one big punch like that, if it's good enough can win somebody a round. Round 5 was close enough I thought for that punch to win G the round. Sometimes one punch can change the fight, and if you’re looking for a reason to give G a round, that seemed to be it.

Canelo shook his head because Golovkin had just shook his head prior after getting hit with a punch, as an observer that's what it appears to me, there was no claim of a foul. They traded little moments like that throughout if you paid attention to the fight.

No!! She's in the position that can alter the livelihood of others. If she's incompetent her license should be revoked. I don't think this is the first time she turned in head scratching What The scorecard.
And I don't dislike her and never said all her work is bad.
