If Azim fought Smith and won, particularly if by KO or stoppage, he would automatically become a very hot prospect. I remember people like Haney and BJ Saunders being put on YouTube cards to ‘ raise their profile with a younger audience’ and then stinking the place out against undemanding opposition. Promoters must know that keeping your fighters away from anyone with a pulse doesn’t work in the long run while a statement win is priceless. Calzaghe who was with Micky Duff, went on a Matchroom card to fight Mark Delaney on ITV and raised his, at the time, non existent profile and ended up on Sky with Warren, Lennox Lewis went on a Micky Duff card on the BBC to stop previously unbeaten Gary Mason and even our good friend Tony Bellew swapped Boxnation for Sky to fight Danny McIntosh and never looked back, professionally and financially. Paralysis by analysis is the name of the game these days, building fighters for fights that never happen and the result of that is, lack of interest in the sport, half empty arenas, terrible tv ratings and anything remotely decent on PPV in a never ending vicious circle. The people who run this sport are complete idiots. They might be rich but they are still complete idiots.

One bad performance in comparison to previous outings, does not make him a hype job. He'll learn more from that fight that he has done by blasting opponents out. Opponents that a boxer of his experience wouldn't normally be matched with just yet.

If the money is crazy high they should take it. A loss doesn't kill his career and if the reward is greater than the risk take the fight.

Win or lose a fight with vs smith would still be a great learner.

Wouldn’t even call it a bad performance, he won easily. It just wasn’t the most exciting of performances.

Official per EBU: Petitjean vs Adam Azim. The Next mandatory is Poulsen, and the Next mandatory is Dalton Smith.
