When is he going to get his props??? Excellent tactics once again, the guy is a world class trainer.!! He gets so much undeserved stick. Degale needs to leave Mcdonnell because Mcdonnell is cosntantly pumping him up telling him how great he is, he needs to regroup maybe get Freddie Roach as his trainer and come back.
He was fantastic, but we were right to be critical of him after the Anderson fight where their tactics were shocking. McDonnell will be on his way out. Without a doubt.
I dont think degale needs freddy roach he just needs to go to a trainer who and gym where he isnt the #1 star. This should be a reality check and we will see if he learns from this.
Degale was in sugarhut club partying a couple weeks ago. He needs to get away from essex, too many distractions!
If Haye beats Klitschko and some other guy and Groves stays undefeated/gets a European belt, he's a worthy Trainer of the Year winner.
And his trainer probably had no issue with it. He thought this fight was a walkover and paid a huge price.
Jim McDonnell will pay the price for being a tit. Love how Booth had a little dig in the post-fight interview by saying "don't celebrate your strengths but work to perfect your weaknesses". He said something similar after Haye/Enzo. The Dark Lord KNOWS :yep
Blatantly the best trainer in the uk. His tactics are spot on. He really does his homework on a fighter.
That style he's preaching will very soon come a cropper as the judges get aware of it. Fair enough to Haye beating Valuev and Groves beating Degale with it, but it's certainly no spectacle and both fights could more than easily have been given the other way, then no doubt he's called a failure: the margin is so very tight. It's not a style I applaud myself, but credit to Groves for pulling it off tonight.
Youve got to use the best tactics in a fight which are most likely going win you the fight and thats what Booth does with his fighters. So far he has got the results and you cant complain with that.
He's a brilliant trainer, love listening to his advice, always excellent. The less said about the trainer in the opposite corner the better, dismal.
