http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,13273_7015795,00.html Thoughts? He admits there wasn't much else Haye could have done. He said Haye fought cautiously late on because he didn't want to run the risk of being knocked out. Also that Haye injured toe wouldn't have made any real significance in the fight. Booth remains adamant Haye should hang up the gloves in October.
i kind of get the feeling that booth isnt happy at haye using the toe excuse, the way he roles his eyes when hes asked aout the toe..but at least the mans honest and was really glad to see the warm embraces after the final bell from him to team klitch
I guess Booth has to roll with the toe excuse because he trains him, and of course is a friend so that's fair enough. Some people criticize Booth but he does admit Haye couldn't have much else, apart from going all out, risking himself to be knocked out. I guess there isn't much else out there for Haye. A fight with Vitali is the only option but I don't think it'll happen so maybe retiring is his best option..
Booth was very realistic in that interview except for the referee part. He should be glad that rodriguez was the ref that night, because nobody else would've put up with haye leaning in on wlad's nuts all night like that. Glad to hear this fraud's hangin' 'em up though. Good riddance! You've had a very carefully guided and lucky career. Doesn't deserve his accolades at all. Never was undisputed at cruiser, and never won a proper world title outright either from the real legit titleholder.
do you think hell fight vitali tho??i was kind of thinking he might have one last payday in england to say goodbye and i cudnt see him takin on vitali incase he lost his last fight...maybe hell go after the wba regular strap tho lol..ya just never know whats on his mind
I doubt he's going to fight Vitali anytime soon. Plus, Haye has set his goal on October to retire for good, which makes a bout with Vitali impossible too. I neither see Wlad giving him a rematch outright either unless Haye works himself back up the ranks. Hard to say what goes on in the mind of Haye. I have a feeling he will fight the winner of Fury/Chisora, then retire.
Run the risk of getting knocked out? Go hard or go home when your that far behind on the cards. See Canelo-Rhodes. David Hayes a good athlete, but I dont think hes a born fighter.
Adam booth is alright. Took the defeat like a man and was honest afterwards. Looks as if he's trying to distance himself from Hayes excuses
Smart and diplomatic move from Booth. He recognises that his career as a trainer has much greater longevity than Haye's career as a boxer.
lol basically said what we all thought - haye had to go for broke or basically lose by UD... surprise.
Pure speculation on my part here, but I just wonder if Haye will defy Booth and box on past his 31st birthday. If Haye were to team up with Roach it would make a more interesting rematch in my opinion.
Booth should have taken blame for the loss, said he had a hangnail during training camp that prevented him from working mitts properly.
