How do you reckon the fight would have panned out if Booth was still in Groves' corner?

Would still have been a close fight, but Booth would have encouraged him not to trade and to keep focused so I'd see him getting to the end of the fight...

I'd probably go with GG on points, much like the degale fight...

No difference at all. George copped right hands with Booth and he copped an almighty one against Froch. No shame in that. It was one punch that did it, nothing tactical.

Yes but he copped for that one big punch because he was adament on landing that left hook. Would he have been throwing them left hooks if Booth was in his corner?

Think the first fight could have been different and Groves could have won on points with the help and advice of Booth. Second fight I'm not so sure, Groves boxed more cleverly without trading with Carl and was starting to come strong but made a mistake and got caught by a good punch.

No major difference, if you get caught you get caught.

    Absolutely.

If you stand on the ropes for 5 seconds with your left hand low then you're going to get caught. Simple as that. Add that to the near punch in a life time by Froch and a knockout is what happens.

I dont think any trainer/coach would have made a big difference to be honest.

George just got complacent. And that elite level you cant lose concentration for even 5 seconds.

Groves isn't tough enough at the top level, he may become more durable but there is just as strong a chance that he gets tagged like that again. Mikkel Kessler or Arthur Abraham are good fights for Groves but both are a real danger to him being put back to domestic level.

Groves would have won with booth. Just like khan was at his best with the tactics roach employed. Box to your strengths. Groves is far more talented than froch he just couldn't go the full 12 without making a silly mistake. He would have been far less likely to make that mistake under booth

Khan was with Freddie Roach and got iced by Danny Garcia and pushed around by Lamont Peterson to the extent he was repeatedly fouling. (failed dope test notwithstanding)

Groves just can't take the shots that top level fighters hit him with without begininng to unravel and Adam Booth isn't going to be able to fix that.

Yeah but freddy roach told khan not to stay there and exchange with garcia too long repeatedly...get in and out. Khan got carried away. Stayed in range exchanging too long...freddy told him, that defeat was all down to khan. Still think he made a big mistake leaving roach...although at least he seems to get more one on one time with hunter.

he did I agree but Groves is headstrong too and like Amir he unravels when he gets tagged hard.
