"We haven't heard anything from the Klitschko's since David won the WBA title and strengthened his bargaining position" I can't stand the Klitschko's but even I admit Haye is merely a belt holder and will be taking the low end on ANY ****in negotiations. He has to beat at least one Klitschko to be considered the best! Never could stand that Adam Booth. He's weird looking as well as ****in stupid!
There's a flaw in your logic...The Klitschkos have not beaten a Klitschko, and they are considered the best. Why must Haye beat one? That would make him the besterer???
I don't see how you can disagree with Booth's point though - the brothers were trying to lock Haye into what amounted to a slave contract where they received all the money, rematch rights, a mandatory fight with the second brother, and options on Haye's future fights if he won all three. The contract to fight Vitali was similar and, according to someone I knew at Sky, Vitali wanted a portion of the Sky PPV money that Haye was negotiating to break even. The brothers were basically asking Haye to pay them for a title shot. That's pretty ****ing unreasonable and I remember that was why Haye didn't take the original offer to fight Maccarinelli. All Booth is saying is that they now have a bargaining chip that means they'll get a fairer division of the total, they're not asking to become the main benificiary.
What's the problem? Haye has strengthened his bargaining power because he's now got the last remaining belt the Klitschko's want in their posession, and he's now more known world-wide. I'm not going to say Haye deserves 50-50, far from it, but he deserves more than the pathetic contract they placed him under last-time.
merely a belt holder? i dont know wether i can be arsed geting in to this argument again :-( yes he will still get less than either Klit, but being the brash, loudmouthed WBA heavyweight champion of the world and the new kid on the block gives him much more at the negotiating table than when he was just a contender
There is a flaw in your logic. The klitschkos beat everyone there was at that point except eachother and are recognised as the champions of the division. So for Haye to beit either one of them would simply make him the champion, not the besterer as you put it so nicely.
I'm hearing you but the Klit's are recognised as the best in the world (How bad a division lol) and Haye beat a circus freak for his belt. He has to beat a Klitschko to get any respect, so thus far all he has is a bobble! Booth comes across like Haye's share will be through the roof and when negotiations start I doubt the Klitschko camp will see it that way.
No flaw, and you pointed it out. Haye could do the same, beat everyone (except a Klitschko) and he's also the best. The original poster said he HAS to beat a Klitschko. Beating a KLitschko is just the quickest way to be the best, not the only way!
Vitali originaly told Haye to go win a belt or do something in the Heavyweight division. He's done that. Booth wasn't saying that Haye should now get the Lions share. He was just saying his stock has improved which even stevie wonder can see! Haye has also proved that he brings in revenue for a fight and is marketable. On top of that Adam Booth is a really nice bloke who always takes the time to meet and talk with fans of boxing. So you being rude about him sits poorly with me. But then who the **** am I?
I got news for you winning a belt from a guy that lost it to the guy that Wlad shut out and doing so by throwing a disgraceful 11.9 punches a round and running like you were training for a marathon did not strengthen his bargaining power. If anything that snoozefest hurt it because it showed us that if Haye is not willing to fight and engage a skill less and slow slug like Valuev he is not going to try and engage with either Klitschko who are light years ahead of Valuev in every single category known to man. Only way I would fight Haye if I was a Klitschko is in the small 15'6" ring because Haye has shown he is not willing to fight.
Whilst I think your view is totally clueless I'll respond to it by saying that Haye did do something to Valuev that no-one else has and that is wobble him. If nothing else that shows he's carried his power up to HW. Also the Klitchko's have long said they want the WBA as well. So the shear fact that haye has it improves his bargaining power!
Thats a very noob like comment to make. I am sorry but thats the only way Haye would have beaten him. You just are not smart enough to realise that. Are you saying haye could have won by fighting on the inside and looking for a brawl? I think people should admire just how much Haye adapted his typical all guns blazing style to get what he wanted...... a belt. The guy has an 87% KO rate and you think always fights on the back foot? You clearly know nothing about Haye. watch some fights on U tube then say he fights on the back foot. I am not saying he is going to beat the Klits, but for the sake of the division you best hope h does. Silly comment. Go home
