Rob, don't EVER bring logic and business acumen into this debate. Haye's obviously a coward for not folding to K2's idiotic demands.

Look Haye should of still accepted the offer but if everyone is so confident RTL pay more why didnt Wlad accept it.

    What's the idiotic demands exactly?

Heck I could even agree with the possibility of Haye really wanting to fight Wlad if it weren't to contractual issues, but his hands are bound by his agreement to Sauerland. Sauerland has a deal with ARD, Klitschko's have an agreement with RTL.

There has been talk of a unification fight between Valuev and Klitschko for years, and the issue was always options (that King wanted) and Sauerland insisting the fight to be shown on ARD.

I am certain Haye won't fight either Klitschkos as long as Sauerland is in the boat. Too bad Vitali will retire soon.

no it doesnt. Haye is prepared to fight on RTL if they offer more money than ARD. Klitsckos are not prepared to fight on ARD if they offer more than RTL.

    It is idiotic.

Haye is prepared to fight on RTL and ARD. He will go with whoever makes them the most money. Can you not read???

Well due to them being in different countries, we've not got the benefit of knowing exactly how the finacial nature of RTL/ARD compares to BBC/ITV; therefore an accurate comparison can not be made (unless of course someone can provide some useful articles/statistics).

I agree with you, the only thing that makes sense is giving it to the highest bidder. Whether that is ARD or RTL, we don't know for sure yet.

Wlad has a deal with RTL that all of his fights _MUST_ be shown exclusively on RTL in Germany. Just like Lennox had a contract with HBO.

It's called a contract. Sauerland knows that, Booth knows that. If Sauerland wants to find a reason to block the fight they simple use the TV station card with ARD and they know the Klits can't agree even if they wanted to.

The Klits wanted the 50-50 because they'd have made MORE money getting a chunk of the Sky PPV money. Without that, Haye will make more than them. All they needed to do was allow the fight to go out for bids, but because they have a golden handcuffs deal with RTL, they don't want to. Why? Because the Klits are on a flat $3.5m per fight with RTL and the network won't want to renegotiate or offer for tender costing them even more.

That could be breach of contract for the Klits and mean they'd need to pay compensation which would come out of their end.

So, the fair solution was that they keep RTL money, Haye keeps Sky and no deals are broken. That's reasonable - why should Haye have his earnings limited because of a deal made by the brothers?

That's why their demands are idiotic. Haye is the bigger attraction in the Uk, he deserves that money.

You admit it then. Haye offered a fair solution. If he can't negotiate the TV rights in Germany, then let's make them seperate. How anyone could say that's unfair is a mystery to me.

But then Haye said "fine you can have it on RTL and keep all the money but we want to keep all the Sky money".

Haye and Booth offered a compromise. K2 rejected it.

jesus i thought you were a decent poster yday talking sense. you just a kltiscko fan boy after all.

Both Haye and Klitscko should off accepted each others offer. There as bad as each other.....and tbh Wlad is probs a bit worse at the moment as Hayes offer was more than reasonable.

If Wlad really wanted the fight he could of cut a deal with RTL to pay a higher fee.

On the General Forum the Klits are technically generating that money since Haye only became famous by insulting Wlad and Vitali. If Haye had not done that then he would not be generating the Sky PPV. Yeah, seriously. Some people think that. :nut
