Adam Booth responds to Klitsckos

Move on which channel it's shown, or putting it out to the highest bidder I believe was the point.

If Klitschkos are already in a contract that doesn't allow them to put the fight out to the highest bidder in Germany is that Haye's problem?

The offer was made for WALDO to keep 100% of the money that his own people were prepared to pay as long as Haye was given the same. Haye didn't refuse this option, Klitschko did.

What does that tell you about who brings the money? Calling Haye a ducker for that is just as stupid as it was this time last year when he pulled out because Setanta went bankrupt.

 

Not Haye's fault, correct. But Haye and Booth were well aware of this "problem" when they said in April that they wanted to fight Wlad as long as they got 50% of any purse.

Why didn't they mention then that they really wanted the German TV money go out to the highest bidder? Why did they say they simply wanted 50% of any purse and then suddenly changed their tune once they were offered what they originally wanted? :think

I think not. I just wonder what would happen with you lot if Povetkin made similar demands...my guess is that WALDO would eat them all up because it's an easier fight.

 

Maybe they sat down with an accountant, looked at the numbers and thought "hold on a minute, something's not right here", I don't know but regardless, from a financial stance they're right. He who puts the most in the pot gets the lions share. Isn't that the way all business works?

Yes, Booth said that. Booth said David insists on keeping 50% of any purse, including the UK one. That means David would get 50% of the UK PPV revenues, Wlad gets the other half.

That's exactly what Booth demanded in April. Now they changed their tune.

I can make a mean French Toast on cheese, sure I burn it 50% of the time but when I get it right man do I get it right.

 

Sometimes it becomes obvious in business that one side is simple not interested in making a deal, no matter if you keep meeting their ever-changing demands. Maybe Haye will become more open minded once he rids himself of Sauerland. We will see.

The last time these two had a deal on the table it was widely known that WALDO would be getting all the German TV rights and Haye would be getting 100% of the Setanta money, maybe Booth made the reasonable assumption that the same thing would be in place this time round? Sounds reasonable to me.

Don't forget it's you lot that try to make WALDO into this big mega-star who is world famous and Haye is just a non-entity ex Cruiserweight champ...if that's the case then surely whatever short-fall WALDO makes from the UK TV money he can reclaim elsewhere? Judging by the fact that the offer was refused I'd say that maybe, just maybe, your guy isn't as huge in popularity as you think he is as he obviously generates no money.

 

To be honest I'm looking forward to developments after Wlad Povetkin and Haye (cringe) Harrison.

I mean surely these guys have to fight at some point. Mind you just look at history, Holyfield, Tyson and Lewis didn't get it on straight away. There's hope yet.
