If you read that carefully, it only says that they have rights to "five future fights". I believe JuanMa has the same type with HBO but they weren't interested in his next fight, which is why he's gone to Showtime. The TV station have a five fight deal but not nessecarily the next five fights.

This is hilarious. "highest bidder". There is no bidding in Germany for box fights. You guys are completely clueless. Why do you think the Klitschkos are on RTL? Is it possibly because only RTL (the biggest commercial financed station) can pony up the amounts of money for such big contracts?

Why on earth would ARD bid on Haye? Haye is completely unknown in Germany. They haven't even shown Haye - Ruiz for Christ's sake, even though Haye is a Sauerland fighter.

    Ahh. I didn't know that.

Ok fine, they should stick with RTL. But then perhaps Team Klitschko should allow Haye to keep the money generated here in the UK from Sky PPV? Because lets be fair, the majority of the UK PPV buys will be down to Haye! It'll be unfair if Haye was to give up 50% of that.

Here's a solution, since Haye needs the K-bros more than they need him, and since Haye has shamelessly thrived off the name of Klitschkos in the past 12-18 montsh.......maybe Haye could agree to a 80-20 split of the UK PPVs?

Ah right!! So did Ruiz give the Klits part of his purse for making his fight with Haye PPV?

Looks this way to me. I don't see how they think they deserve any of that. Even the absurdly greedy Mayweather and Arum let Hatton have the UK PPV money for the Mayweather, obviously, and Pacquiao fights.

Klitschko demanding 50% of the UK PPV money is unprecedented and unfair...yet Haye is the ducker? It sounds like he's done bending over backwards and so he should be.

Haye is only saying the fight should be shown on the highest bidder. If that's RTL, fine. Haye doesn't have an issue with who shows it.

I think you're getting wound up over nothing, mate.

Here's an older (2007 I believe) article regarding the failed negotiations between Sauerland and the Klitschkos. Then too it failed over exclusive TV rights. Sauerland wanted the bout to be shown exclusively on ARD, RTL said they have an exclusive contract with the Klitschkos for "their fights" (doesn't say _ALL_ their fights, but we could probably assume that).

    http://translate.google.com/transla...-rtl/klitschko-boxen-ard-rtl.html&sl=de&tl=en

Sauerland always found a way to keep their hands on "their" WBA strap. You guys think they would allow Haye to lose the WBA strap in a no-options fight? Haye is worthless to Sauerland without the WBA strap.

Shouldn't this read "Also Sauerland Event gave us the WBA tile and are our promotional partner - they need to be considered.". Probably a translation misake...

Adamek is the toughest fight because that guy can box.The Klitschkos are just big and David would beat them,Adamek is more difficult though

Interesting he doesn't mention Vitali. Didn't they recently say how they really wanted Vitali because they consider the WBC belt more valuable? What ever happened to that?

Looks like Vitali will retire without ever getting a chance to fight Haye, oh well.

You know what is indefensible? Cheering when a unfication fight doesn't happen. That's indefensible when you're a true boxing fan.

Once again in this thread (and all the others) there is this group of Brits that is cheering whenever we hear about the obstacles and and problems keeping a unification from getting made. Are you guys happier when Haye does NOT fight the Klits? Does it give you guys a type of satisfaction?

Some of you guys need to consider for a second if you're a true boxing fan that wants the biggest fight to happen.. or if you cheer for your national hero no matter what. Forget about your nationality for just a second and think about the big picture.

    You know what?

I would love to see Adamek - Haye if no better fight was available, they're both great boxers.

But I would much rather see unification fights between Haye - Vitali (who is very close to retiring) or Haye - Wlad because that would be much much better for our sport.

Wlad has a contract with RTL though...? If so, then it shouldn't be up for discussion which TV station in Germany gets the fight- RTL gets it by default because of the contract with WK

Exactly. Haye/Booth/Sauerland have known since 3 years that Wlad is bound to RTL. This is not exactly new. They knew Wlad was bound to RTL and Booth in April said "We want 50% of all money generated, otherwise there is no fight". That's what - according to Finkel - was offered.

Then suddenly they changed their tune and want to consider ARD because that's Sauerland's station or - as an alternative - 100% (not 60%, not 80%) of the UK PPV revenues.

Actually I wish Wlad accepted that demand just to see what excuse Sauerland and Booth come up with next.
